This week’s DC Comics news, pull list and previews features a sneak peek at Free Comic Book Day 2019 and an exciting week of new comics.

It’s another exciting week for DC Comics fans with a long list of new titles coming out on New Comic Book Day in addition to a sneak peek at this year’s Free Comic Book Day offerings.

News

DC Comics announced plans to showcase two titles from its new line of Young Adult and middle grade graphic novels during Free Comic Book Day on May 4, 2019.

The DC Ink (YA) offering will be a free chapter from Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale FCBD Special Edition from writer Lauren Myracle and artist Isaac Goodhart. The book releases May 7, 2019, but DC wants to get the excitement going early. This book might be geared to young adults but it will appeal to older readers as well. This gritty origin story follows 15-year-old Selina Kyle as she becomes homeless and tries to figure out who she is and what her purpose is in the world. There will also be a preview of Teen Titans: Raven from Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo, due in stores on July 2, 2019.

For younger readers, DC Zoom offers two chapters from Dear Justice League from writer Michael Northrop and artist Gustavo Duarte. In this charming story the members of the Justice League answer fan mail from kids who look up to the world’s biggest heroes.

Both of these free previews will be available on Free Comic Book Day at participating comic shops.

Previews

As Valentine’s Day approaches the latest special edition giant issue focuses on love in the DC universe … but it’s not just any kind of love. It’s love in space. Mysteries of Love in Space #1 features eight new tales of love among DC icons like Superman, Green Lantern and Hawkgirl, to name a few. Find out why Lois Lane takes a liking to Darkseid while Hawkgirl celebrates “Galentine’s Day” in this brand new tale from writer Cecil Castelluci.

While we’re talking Valentine’s Day, there’s a brand new Harley Quinn statue from DC Collectibles coming in February that’s a must-have for the Harley collectors out there, but with its pink, black and white color scheme it’s a perfect gift. The Harley Quinn Pink, Black and White Valentine’s Variant by Stanley Lau is a limited edition of 5000 and will retail for $80.
