Manchester United face Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Following weekend FA Cup games, the Premier League returns on Tuesday with Manchester United hosting Burnley at Old Trafford. United have climbed up the table since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over for Jose Mourinho winning six straight games. After looking completely out of the race for a Champions League spot under Mourinho, United are only three points behind four place, Chelsea. Burnley are just above the relegation zone, picking up only 22 points in 23 games.
Solskjaer continued his unbeaten run as United manager, beating Arsenal 3-1 in the FA Cup on Friday. United have played significantly better under Solskjaer, displaying the immense talent that they have. In the six Premier League games under Solskjaer, United have outscored their opponents 17-4. Paul Pogba did not play in the final two games under Mourinho and looks completely rejuvenated under Solskjaer. Over the last six games, Pogba has scored five goals and added four assists.
Burnley lost 5-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup over the weekend. While the Clarets were soundly beaten by City, they have been playing much better in the Premier League lately. Burnley are unbeaten over their last four games, picking up 10 points. After finishing seventh last season, the Clarets have taken a significant step back. Burnley have struggled to keep the ball out of their net, conceding 43 goals, the third most this season. Sean Dyche will have to design a good defensive gameplan if Burnley are going to slow down the red-hot United and steal a point at Old Trafford.
