Following weekend FA Cup games, the Premier League resumes with games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Liverpool look to maintain their four-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the table on Wednesday against Leicester. Both Liverpool and Leicester played thrilling 4-3 games in their last Premier League game. The Reds beat Crystal Palace but the Foxes lost to Wolves. Leicester are ninth in the table with 31 points but are only two points behind Watford for a potential spot in the Europa League next season.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have picked up 60 of a possible 69 points but the title race with City will not be decided until the final weeks of the season. After a slow start to the season, Mohamed Salah has caught fire. The reigning player of the year scored twice against Palace and has nine goals in his last eight games. The vaunted front three of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino will lead the attack on Wednesday as Liverpool look to pick up all three points.
Leicester thought they had stolen a point from Wolves when Wes Morgan scored in the 87th minute but Diogo Jota’s third goal of the game in the 93rd minute sunk the Foxes. The loss has added to the pressure surrounding Claude Puel. Leicester have lost three of their last four games and five of their last eight. The Foxes will look to steal a point from Liverpool on Wednesday. Jamie Vardy will look to capitalize on any chances that he has. Vardy leads Leicester with seven goals this season and will be the focal point of the attack.
