2. Matthew McConaughey, Texas Longhorns

Matthew McConaughey is more than just alright (alright, alright) when it comes to his college football fandom. An alumnus of the University of Texas Austin, McConaughey is a massive Texas Longhorns fan, bleeding burnt orange as he has for several years.

The Academy Award winning star of such films as Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar and True Detective season 1 no doubt oozes a particularly cool brand of charisma whenever he’s on the screen, be it for film, television or even in his ads for Buick (somehow both substance-less and highly entertaining at the same time), he’s magnetic and people are drawn to him. That also applies to how he is on the Texas Longhorns sidelines.

Since coming to notoriety, all fame has done to McConaughey’s fandom of the Longhorns is give him more access and time to shine as a fan. Dating back to the 2008 Fiesta Bowl, a game where Texas took down the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes, McConaughey has celebrated and been a part of the team, their unofficial spokesperson in a way.

That has only continued since then. He’s been seen at numerous pre and post game activities for the Longhorns and has even attended several practices with the team and talked to the players. There are few college football fans anywhere that have the loyalty and dedication of McConaughey.

And, for good measure, McConaughey’s fandom isn’t limited to football. He’s an avid supporter of Shaka Smart’s Longhorns men’s basketball team as well. The burnt orange runs deep for the actor, without a doubt.
