3. Man City score 5 as they take frustration out on Arsenal

The biggest shock of the midweek Premier League fixtures was Manchester City’s loss away at Newcastle. The Light Blues started that game emphatically, with a goal after 24 seconds, but they never found their rhythm and ended up losing to an incredibly resilient and spirited Newcastle.

Luckily for Pep Guardiola and his side, Liverpool could only manage a draw at home to Leicester which has given the Manchester side some hope. Liverpool fans probably don’t need reminding of the points advantage they surrendered in the 2013-14 season but it will be in the back of their minds.

This weekend Arsenal are Manchester City’s opposition and the London side are facing them at the exact wrong time. Guardiola, the fans and the players will want a reaction from their midweek defeat and that could mean a big scoreline.

Arsenal will be competitive in this match but their defense has not proved to be consistent or strong at all this season. They have looked better since the return of Laurent Koscielny — who went off injured in the FA Cup tie against Manchester United but has since returned to training.

If the Frenchman starts on Sunday then Arsenal might have a better chance but City will be out to prove a point and Arsenal are going to be the side that the reigning champions make an example of.

Guardiola’s side will come out all guns blazing and notch a couple before half-time with Arsenal pulling one back before the interval. However, the Citizens will come out equally as fired up in the second half and bag three more goals to hit Arsenal for five.
