Eleider Alvarez surprised the boxing world when he knocked out Sergey Kovalev in August. They fight for the second time on Feb. 2. Here’s how to watch.

Sergey Kovalev (32-3-1, 28 KOs) was supposed to defeat Eleider Alvarez (24-0, 12 KOs) in August based on expert predictions, but nobody notified Alvarez. Although he’s not known as a knockout puncher, Alvarez stopped Kovalev in the seventh and disrupted the landscape of the light heavyweight division. On Saturday, Feb. 2, they get set to do it all again live on ESPN+.

Kovalev’s entire career is riding on this one fight. If he defeats Alvarez, he regains the WBO light heavyweight title. If he loses, it’s all over. They’re fighting at a unique venue which is the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, TX. It is the practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys and has hosted boxing bouts in the past to great success.

The broadcasting situation for this contest and the undercards is unusual and a bit hard to follow. The undercards will be streamed via ESPN+ at 7 PM ET.

At 10 PM ET, ESPN and ESPN Deportes will televise the WBO featherweight title bout between Oscar Valdez (24-0, 19 KOs) and Carmine Tommasone (19-0, 5 KOs). It will be followed by the IBF lightweight title matchup between Richard Commey (27-2, 24 KOs) and Isa Chaniev (13-1, 6 KOs).

ESPN+ is streaming the Kovalev vs. Alvarez contest in addition to the lightweight fight between Teofimo Lopez (11-0, 9 KOs) and Diego Magdaleno (31-2, 13 KOs). These fights will be on ESPN+ starting at 12 AM ET.

You could limit yourself to the free featherweight and lightweight title bouts previously mentioned, but if you want to see the main event and the young knockout machine Lopez, you need to sign up for ESPN+.  They offer you a free one-month trial and a subscription will cost $4.99 per month. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
