The Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots will be fighting for a Super Bowl title. But the Puppy Bowl will also be a good source of entertainment.
It’s the event that you’ve waited all year for. On Sunday, two teams will fight it out on the gridiron for that ultimate prize. There will be penalties (hopefully no missed calls), rough tackles, and lots of scoring.
And it all goes down at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet.
Oh sure, the Patriots and the Rams will face each other in Atlanta later that day for the glory of Super Bowl LIII. But at Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl, adoptable furry friends will take to the field to win something even more special: your hearts.
It’s the 15th year of Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl. While fans from all corners of the world love watching the little champions duke it out for the MVP (Most Valuable Pup) and the Lom-Barky Trophy, the event also raises awareness of adopting shelter pets. All the puppies who are competing are from the Connecticut Humane Society and in past years, all puppies have been adopted.
Dan Schachner will be refereeing the Puppy Bowl for the eighth year, but this time he will have some assistance on slow-motion replays from the first-ever sloth referee. New penalties implemented this year include “neutral bone infraction” and “invasive sniffing.”
The 2019 Puppy Bowl will kickoff on Animal Planet at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 3. Pregame will begin at 2 p.m. ET. If you can’t make it to a TV, the live stream will be available through Animal Planet Go.
