DraftKings NBA Picks February 3: Will Noah get revenge?
You guys can have all of the Super Bowl crap you can handle. I am far more interested in the three games we have for our DraftKings NBA tournaments today. There is money to be made, and it’s far safer than Super Bowl prop bets. It’s in the NBA!

The money line was predictably high last night at 301.25. My lineup with the stud centers failed because of Darius Miller. The published one had Osman.
kiteman took this one down with 371.25 DraftKings points because of a monster from James Harden and Luka Doncic. He got huge value from Monk, Mikal Bridges, Portis, Kenrich Williams, and BroLo.

DraftKings NBA Point Guards:
Best Bets:
Russell Westbrook ($11,000): Honestly, I’m not crazy about his matchup with Boston, but Westbrook has five straight triple doubles. George is doing a lot of the scoring, but Westbrook is doing everything else. Westbrook only had 42.75 DraftKings points in the first game against Boston, but he was also 5-20 from the floor in that one. Even if he only hits his season average field goal percentage, Westbrook gets right up around 50. I understand a fade here, but Westbrook hasn’t been under 50 DraftKings points since he only played 29 minutes against the Knicks before this streak started.
Kyrie Irving ($9,200): For as underwhelming as Westbrook was against Boston the first time around, Irving was even worse. Kyrie had just 28.25 DraftKings points in 33 minutes in that game. Do we trust that or the recent hot streak? Irving has at least 45 DraftKings points in seven straight games. What you view as the status quo will determine if you use either of the top point guards.
Honorable Mention:
Kyle Lowry ($7,200): Lowry put up 42.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting in just 32 minutes. Even if this game gets out of hand, Lowry should easily hit value at this price. We all saw what Reggie Jackson did to the Clippers yesterday. That’s not a fluke. It’s happened to the Clippers a lot this year. Lowry is a strong play here.
Dennis Smith Jr ($5,100): This is one guy that David Fizdale actually wants to use in his rotation. That’s never a given. The status on Smith is still up in the air, so if you plan on sleeping past the noon eastern tip because you were out getting primed for the Super Bowl last night or because you were up writing all night, it may be best to leave this. Smith was the centerpiece of the Porzingis deal since you can’t really count cap space as the centerpiece. Smith is going to play a lot whenever the Knicks put him out there.
Dark Horses:
Shelvin Mack ($4,500): Mack put up a chalk 11x value on Friday after Conley was scratched from the lineup. I’m not really interested in Mack if Conley plays, but Memphis really has no reason to use Conley. That is especially true if there is any truth to the trade rumors swirling around him. Why play a guy with a balky knee if you are trying to deal him? Mack should start. If he does, there is absolutely no way you can fade him.
Kadeem Allen ($3,700): If Smith isn’t ready to go, Allen will start at the point against for the Knicks. Allen put up 21 DraftKings points against a tough Boston team, which was good for 6.5x value. Memphis is decent defensively, but they aren’t Boston. There is good upside for whomever starts at point for the Knicks.
My pick: Irving(PG), Allen(G). Unless Conley sits, then I’ll fit Mack in somehow.
DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:
Best Bet:
Lou Williams ($7,000): I’m hoping that most people look at the price and shy away. That’s the first reaction when you see a bench player at this price, no matter who the player is. However, LouWill has five straight games of more than 38 DraftKings points, including one at 8x value. No, that’s not a typo. Williams isn’t going to do that to Toronto, but with the way he’s going now, I doubt he’s held to less than 5x either.
Honorable Mention:
Patrick Beverley ($5,400): Beverley finally slowed down yesterday, and it may have been at the worst possible time Toronto is pretty tough on the wings. Everyone is going to bail on Bev, and I understand why. However, SG is very shallow today behind LouWill. Gallinari is with the team, but he likely wont return until later in the week. There is still upside for Beverley, even against a tougher Toronto team.
Jaylen Brown ($4,800): The Celtics are such a deep team that it’s hard to pick just who is going to have the better night if you aren’t paying up for Irving. Brown is reasonably priced for a scorer. Boston has needed all the scoring help they can get, so Brown should see plenty of minutes. He is one of the lower risks among Boston players.
Dark Horses:
Danny Green ($4,200): Green is nothing special, but neither are the players guarding him. Before Green exited the Milwaukee game with an illness, he had a 25 DraftKings point average over the last three games. Just the fact that Green made my article makes me mildly nauseous, but that’s what we have today.
Damyean Dotson ($4,000): Dotson won the guard roulette and got the start on Friday after the Knicks were gutted. If none of the Dallas returns make their debut tonight, Dotson is the place you want to go for value. He racked up 30.5 DraftKings points and Allonzo Trier was almost nowhere to be found. I hate the Knicks and their rotations, but if you can keep a close enough eye on the starting lineups, so can sift through the crap and maybe find a gold nugget like Dotson.
My pick: Williams(SG), Dotson(F)
DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
Paul George ($10,000): George has held by Boston just like Westbrook was in the first meeting. PG only had 35 DraftKings points in as many minutes in that one. Now, George isn’t going to play 50 minutes here, so can he actually hit value? Do you really want to bet against him? Only the Knicks have held George under 50 DraftKings points in the last nine games and it was more the coaching staff that held him than the Knicks. It’s hard to fade George, even against Boston.
Kawhi Leonard ($9,500): This looks like a really good matchup for Leonard, but he was a bust against the Bucks on Friday. That may keep people off of him. Truth be told, the Clippers don’t really defend any position well, so it’s all about how you want to attack this. A Raptors stack could be popular if you are fading the Thunder. Otherwise, mix and match.
Honorable Mention:
Jayson Tatum ($5,700): Tatum had his way with the Thunder for 34.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting. Grant wont really be able to handle him here either. This is about as good of a matchup as you are going to find for Tatum. He seems like a good play for the price.
Kevin Knox ($5,500): I’m not a huge fan of this matchup, but Knox was very good and played a lot of minutes against Boston on Friday. Knox loses a lot of his luster if Smith and Matthews make their debuts here, but if it’s the same crew that started the game on Friday, Knox is worth a look even against Memphis.
Dark Horses:
Justin Holiday ($4,400): Holiday had one of his most productive games with the Grizzlies on Friday, and he still barely hit value. Yes, it seems that a ceiling game for Holiday in Memphis is around 25 points. You probably aren’t getting that from Holiday. I see Holiday as high risk for little reward.
Bruno Caboclo ($3,600): Bruno was part of what kept my lineup from a truly great showing on Friday night, but I will return to the value well tonight against the Knicks, but certain conditions have to be met. Kyle Anderson must be out again. Otherwise Bruno only gets the minutes that Omri Casspi was getting and that just isn’t enough.
My pick: George(SF)
DraftKings NBA Power Forwards:
Best Bets:
Al Horford ($6,700): Horford has been playing well lately, putting up at least 32 DraftKings points in five straight games. He likely would have been in the 40’s again over the last two games if Horford has played more than the 51 combined minutes he got in blowout victories over the Knicks and Hornets. I like the more if Horford plays the four, but he should be serviceable even if he draws Adams.
Pascal Siakam ($6,400): I really hate the top options at PF, so I’m moving down the list. Honestly, I expect Siakam to outperform both Harris and Harrell like he did in the first meeting. Siakam is priced reasonably here, especially considering this looks like a really good matchup.
Honorable Mention:
jaren Jackson ($5,200): This is a smash spot for Jackson if he is able to play. The Knicks don’t defend the front particularly well. Jackson mauled the Knicks for 43.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting. It seems as he has surpassed Green in the pecking order when healthy, so if Jackson plays, play him!
Marcus Morris ($5,100): Morris is also a fairly low risk here since we know he’s going to play about 30 minutes off the bench. Morris turned that into 37.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Thunder. Morris has six straight games of more than 25 DraftKings points. I doubt he goes under that here.
Dark Horse:
Ivan Rabb ($3,700): If Jackson is out, use Rabb. Hell, even if Jackson plays, Rabb may be worth the while since he is stealing minutes from Marc Gasol as well since he is reportedly on the block too. It would be nice to know how much time Rabb is going to get, but he has played 51 minutes over the last two games and put up 50.75 DraftKings points. He’s a great value so long as he plays over Gasol or Jackson.
My pick: Siakam(PF)
DraftKings NBA Centers:
Best Bets:
Steven Adams ($6,100): Normally, this would be a no brainer to play Marc Gasol, but with rumors abound and his playing time slashed on Friday, I don’t trust this situation at all. Adams has at least 30 DraftKings points in eight of the last ten games, and when he did miss, it wasn’t by much. The solid floor on Adams has me interested here, but honestly, Serge is a much better option.
Serge Ibaka ($6,000): Ibaka dominated the Clippers in the first meeting, putting up 45.25 DraftKings points in just 24 minutes. This front is still the same unit that couldn’t handle Serge then. Why would they be able to now? I like the whole Toronto frontcourt today.
Honorable Mention:
DeAndre Jordan ($5,400): Jordan is in a really good spot if the Knicks let him play. However, with the way they have treated Enes Kanter, I would say nothing is certain even if Jordan is active. You can play the lottery if you want. I’lll find the extra $600 for Ibaka.
Dark Horses:
Mitchell Robinson ($4,000): The Knicks are enamored with Robinson, so I would expect him to get his normal allotment of 20 minutes per game. What he does with that is anyone’s guess. Robinson’s defensive prowess gives him a decent floor, but the lack of big minutes limits whatever upside he does have.
Joakim Noah ($3,500): This is going to be sweet for Noah. I really hope the Grizzlies start him. The Knicks signed Noah to an albatross of a contract, so they took their normal approach. They just didn’t play him. There was nothing wrong with Noah, they just didn’t play him. The Knicks took almost two years out of the prime of his career because they were dumb enough to pay him so much. I hope Noah sticks it to them here.
My pick: Ibaka(C), Noah(UTIL)
