It wouldn’t be an NFL game without a little controversy.
Prop bets are part of what makes the Super Bowl exciting for casual fans as well as those who have no rooting interest in the two teams playing. One of the most popular prop bets every year is the over/under for the national anthem. Gladys Knight performed the anthem this year, without The Pips, and it was lovely and fine and a tremendous rendition.
However, upon further video review, we have our first controversy of the game when the time of Knight’s rendition came into question. Initially, it was believed she hit the over, and the payouts were made.
But the controversy came at the end where there was a question as to whether Knight sang “brave” twice at the end of the song.
If she only sang brave once, it would have hit the under, but if she did sing it twice, it would have hit the over.
As Darren Rovell, and noted Super Bowl commercial connoisseur points out, we have a full-blown controversy on our hands. This isn’t the first time the NFL has seen an anthem controversy.
JUST IN: There's controversy over the Gladys Knight national anthem.

One sportsbook graded the OVER as a win and then took it back.
Apparently, she might have said "BRAVE" twice.
First brave would have made it the UNDER. End of second brave would have made it the OVER.
Did you bet on the over/under for the anthem and don’t know if you’re a winner or a loser?
You’re not alone as this Super Bowl couldn’t even get the game underway without the first controversy.
Somewhere Roger Goodell is smiling because at least it’s not the NFL referees who are the cause for the controversy.
Expect ESPN, NFL Network and every other outlet to dedicate hours of coverage to anthem-gate to determine whether Knight hit the over or the under.
Degenerate gamblers demand the truth.
