Josh Allen. 2. player. 42. . Edge. Kentucky

The San Francisco 49ers have the No. 2 overall selection in the 2019 NFL draft, and with the pick, they should look to bring in an elite player coming off the edge. This past season, the expectations were pretty high for the 49ers, as it would be the first full year with Jimmy Garoppolo as their starting quarterback.

In addition to Jimmy G, the 49ers would also have the addition of Jerick McKinnon at running back, as well as Richard Sherman in the defensive secondary. Well, Sherman had a solid season, but both Garoppolo and McKinnon saw their years end due to injury, and it will be back to the drawing board in 2019.

Luckily, the 49ers have a solid head coach and Kyle Shanahan, who will look to turn the franchises fortunes around this season. Garoppolo should be healthy enough to go in Week One, and with their first round selection this April, the 49ers should look to bring in a player like Josh Allen from Kentucky.

Allen is a guy who is going to be a standout player at the NFL level, and has the ability to be a double digit sack guy by the time his career is over. The 49ers have an immediate need at the edge rusher position, and Allen is certainly a player who can step in and be a dominant force in year one, as the 49ers look to contend in the NFC West and beyond.
