After his first season as the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Scott Frost is working to completely renovate and remodel the roster that he has available to him in hopes of rebuilding the Cornhuskers.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers didn’t enjoy the start to the 2018 season. Thanks to a 0-6 start to 2018, things were certainly looking bleak for Scott Frost and the Cornhuskers during the first half of the year.
Things started to turn around a bit down the stretch of the season. Frost’s team grabbed four wins in its final six games and started to seem promising. There was potential present in Lincoln, Nebraska and it looked as if the future might actually be pretty good with Nebraska’s new head coach.
Now, with the 2019 Nebraska recruiting class, things really do seem promising.
The Cornhuskers currently have the No. 19 ranked recruiting class in the country. This group is the No. 4 recruiting class in the Big Ten for this recruiting cycle. There’s a lot to be excited about for fans of the Cornhuskers.
The Cornhuskers have quite a few running backs available to them in this class.
Frost and Nebraska are bringing a total of four running backs to Lincoln with the 2019 recruiting class. It certainly looks like the Cornhuskers will be loaded with some versatile talents at the position for years to come.
Wandale Robinson is a four-star, 5-foot-9, 175-pound running back and is one of the best recruits at his position in the country. Rahmir Johnson and Ronald Thompkins are, more or less, built in the same sort of mold at 5-foot-10 and 173 pounds and then 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds respectively.
Rounding out this group is Dedrick Mills, formerly of Garden City Community College in Kansas. Mills is notably larger than his teammates at 5-foot-11 and 227 pounds.
Here’s what Nebraska’s 2019 recruiting class looks like according to 247Sports:
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a pretty good class put together and it will be interesting to see how Scott Frost designs his offense over the coming years with the players he will then have available to him. Frost is certainly getting a group of players together who can fill multiple roles, at least on the offensive side of things, and that could make this team much more dangerous in the coming years.
The Cornhuskers probably aren’t going to make the leap into becoming a national title contender overnight. More than likely, this isn’t a team that can simply go on to compete for the Big Ten in the next season or so. However, this program is being built into one that will be really good really soon.
