WWE is set to induct the original Hart Foundation as the first members of the 2019 Hall of Fame.

WrestleMania weekend is coming up in a just a few weeks, and it’s always a huge experience for the WWE Universe. From AXXESS to NXT Takeover, to the WrestleMania event itself, it’s a spectacular weekend. One of the highlights of the festivities is the annual Hall of Fame celebration.

PWInsider broke the news this week that the original Hart Foundation is expected to be the first inductee into this year’s Hall of Fame class. The names being inducted would be the “Mouth of the South” Jimmy Hart, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, and of course Bret “Hitman” Hart. Hart and Neidhart teamed up in the late 1980s and early 1990s to claim two WWE (then-WWF) Tag Team Championship reigns.

The announcement would make Bret and Jimmy two-time inductees. Jimmy was inducted as a manager in 2005, while Bret was inducted as a singles wrestler a year later in 2006. Bret will also join Ric Flair as the only WWE superstars to be inducted twice.

Many were hoping that the announcement might include the 1997 installment of the Hart Foundation, that included the late Brian Pillman and Owen Hart. Fans have been screaming for years about Owen not joining his brother in the Hall of Fame.

The Hart Foundation was a giant family affair through the years. Bret and Owen were brothers, Neidhart and the British Bulldog were brothers-in-law. Pillman was a longtime friend to the family that trained in the famed Hart family dungeon in Calgary.

On a side note, it is rumored that Bam Bam Bigelow is also on the potential induction list. He was set to be inducted LAST year, but it was later revealed that it would make more sense to do it this year when WrestleMania weekend emanates from Bigelow’s home state of New Jersey.

The 2019 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday night, ahead of the WrestleMania extravaganza. More names will be released in the coming weeks, but if this is any indication, this year’s class should be pretty interesting.
