Now that the 2019 National Signing Day has passed, let’s take a look at the top college football recruit for the Class of 2020.

National Signing Day for 2019 is now in the rear-view mirror. Coaches around the country are welcoming in new recruits for the 2019 year. While it is always good to admire the present, it will not stop us from looking towards the future for next year’s signing day. The top recruit for 2020 is a player several elite programs will be looking to land.

According to 247Sports and ESPN’s Junior 300, defensive end Bryan Bresee is the top-rated recruit in the country for 2020. However, Rivals has pro-style quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei rated as the top prospect nationally in their 250 rankings. Both are undecided and hold several offers from great programs.

Bresee holds 33 offers and, according to 247’s crystal ball predictions, Penn State and Ohio State are the early favorites for the 6-5, 290-pound defensive lineman from Damascus, Md. Uiagalelei has 31 total offers and 247Sports crystal ball projections has Clemson, USC and Oregon as the early favorites for the 6-4, 240-pounder from St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA), the same high school Josh Rosen went to.

247Sports lists Bresee as a five-star recruit and the best player nationally, at his position and in the state. ESPN gives him a lower ranking at four stars with a grade of 89, but still listed as the best in the country. For Uiagelelei, Rivals gives him a 6.1 ranking and the number one ranking nationally. Bresee still cracks Rivals’ top-five prospects.

Expect the bidding for these two elite recruits to pick up with earnest in the coming days, weeks and months. These two players could join the likes of Jadeveon Clowney, Robert Nkemdiche, Vince Young and Trevor Lawrence as former No. 1 recruits who excel in college and become first round picks in the NFL Drafts. Of course, that’s still a few years away, but both players represent the best that the Class of 2020 has to offer.
