3. TE Demetrius Harris (Kansas City Chiefs)

It’s not like Jaguars’ general manager David Caldwell hasn’t tried to upgrade the tight end position in recent years. In 2015, there was the big-ticket addition of former Denver Broncos’ two-time Pro Bowler Julius Thomas? He spent two seasons with the club, played in just 21 games and finished with 76 receptions, good for 736 yards and nine touchdowns. He was dealt to the Miami Dolphins in ’17.

Last offseason, talented Austin Seferian-Jenkins was signed by the club. He was coming off a solid year with the New York Jets, hauling in a career-best 50 passes for 357 yards and three scores. But he was limited to only five games in his first season in Jacksonville, catching 11 balls for 90 yards and one TD.

Of course, the team got its share of production from 2006 first-round draft pick Marcedes Lewis for quite the spell. In 12 seasons, he rolled up 378 catches – 33 for scores – and was a big asset to the Jaguars’ running game. But the team parted ways with the veteran last offseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best tight ends in the league in Travis Kelce. Valuable reserve Demetrius Harris has made his share of big plays on offense and special teams. In ’18, he caught just 12 passes but managed a career-best three scores. It would be a solid addition for a lot of reasons.
