NHL DFS Man Advantage Thursday February 7th
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Thursday night February 7th! After a little break last night with only 2 games on the schedule we have an enormous 14 game slate, the biggest we’ve had this season. With Boston, Toronto, and NY Rangers the only teams off tonight we get plenty of fire power to load up our rosters with, but because there are so many high end players our goaltending situation is a little bit murky tonight.
NHL DFS Schedule:
7PM:
Carolina @ Buffalo
Pittsburgh @ Florida
NY Islanders @ New Jersey
Los Angeles @ Philadelphia
Colorado @ Washington
7:30PM:
Winnipeg @ Montreal
Anaheim @ Ottawa
Vegas @ Detroit
St Louis @ Tampa Bay
8PM:
Dallas @ Nashville
Edmonton @ Minnesota
8:30PM:
Vancouver @ Chicago
9PM:
San Jose @ Calgary
Columbus @ Arizona
NHL DFS Goalies:
My top overall play in net tonight is Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,300) in a home game against the Blues. Vasilevskiy is 12-4-1 at home this season with a 2.46 GAA and a .927 SV% and is undefeated in his last 3 starts against the Blues and only allowed 3 goals in that span.
Another top choice is Sergei Bobrovsky ($7,900) on the road in Arizona tonight. Bobrovsky has a 6-2-1 career record against Arizona, and 4-1 with 8 goals allowed in his last 5 starts against the Coyotes.
Casey DeSmith ($7,800) is likely to get the start in Florida since Matt Murray came up with an upper body injury after practice on Wednesday. DeSmith won his last start stopping 37 of 40 shots snapping his personal 3 game losing streak.
My last choice in net is an, in my opinion, underpriced Marc-Andre Fleury ($7,800) in a road start against Detroit tonight. Detroit has won 3 straight but 2 of those wins came against Ottawa and Edmonton, and they have only scored 8 goals in those 3 wins.
NHL DFS Top Forwards:
High Tier:
Steven Stamkos ($7,600) – Stamkos has points in 9 of his last 10 games totaling 5 goals and 9 assists while playing almst 19.5 minutes per game. In his last 10 Stamkos is averagin 3.6 shots a game over that span and averagin 5.3 FPPG.
Sebastian Aho ($7,100 ) – On Tuesday night Aho has his 5 game point streak snapped and he will look to start a new one with linemates Nino Niederreiter and Justin Williams in tow. During his 5 game streal Aho had 3 goals and 6 assists
Artemi Panarin ($6,800) – Panarin is riding a 5 game point streak with 2 goals and 6 assists in that span as well averaging 5.1 FPPG. Columbus has switched up their lines a little and moved Bread Man to the second line with Alexander Wennberg and Oliver Bjorkstrand ($3,400). Bjorkstrand has goals in 3 straight games and is averaging over 5 FPPG during his goal streak.
Mid Tier:
Sean Couturier ($6,400) – Couturier comes into tonight’s game on a 4 game point streak totaling 2 goals and 3 assists. During his point streak the Flyers 2nd line center is averaging 4.6 FPPG. Couturier centers Jakub Voracek and Oskar Lindblom.
Alex DeBrincat ($6,200) – It’s all about streaks tonight, and DeBrincat is no exception. Coming on a 6 game point streak DeBrincat is the hottest Blackhawk not name Patrick Kane ($8,200). During his 6 game point streak DeBrincat has 3 goals and 5 assists while playing on the second line for the Hawks with Dylan Strome and Dominik Kahun.
Mikael Granlund ($5,300) – To keep with the theme of the night Granlund comes into tonight’s matchup with Edmonton riding a 4 game assist streak during which he has 5 assists for the Wild. Granlund plays on the Wild top line with Eric Staal and Jason Zucker as well as on the top PP unit.
Value Tier:
Thomas Vanek ($4,100) – Vanek has points in 6 of 7 games with 3 goals and 5 assists. Vanek has a tendency to score in bunches this season so while he is hot now we should take advantage of it.
Connor Sheary ($3,700) – Sheary has almost double the points at home than he does on the road, 14 home points as opposed to 8 on the road, and luckily tonight’s game is at home. Sheary skated with Jack Eichel and Kyle Okposo on the Sabres top line yesterday so hopefully that stays and we can Sheary with exposure to the Sabres best player at home
Oskar Sundqvist ($3,300) – Sundvist is centering the Blues 3rd line currently and has 3 goals and an assist in the last 4 games for the Blues.
NHL DFS Top Defensemen plays:
Pay Up
Jacob Trouba ($5,400) – Trouba has a modest 3 game point streak with 5 assists during his modest 3 game point streak. Trouba has seemingly replaced injured Dyustin Byfuglien in the Jets PP situations.
