Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin traded for third time in four days

Since Monday, Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin have bounced around the league, now winding up with the Indiana Pacers just before the trade deadline.

With the NBA trade deadline approaching fast, trades are beginning to heat up. Tobias Harris and Nikola Mirotic have already been dealt, and basketball fans are still waiting on the edge of their seats for news regarding Anthony Davis.

For Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin, however, the week of the 2018-19 trade deadline is probably not one that they will look back and remember fondly.

In a span of four days, the pair has been traded to three different teams, most recently the Indiana Pacers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. From there on, it appears that the journey for Stauskas and Baldwin will continue, as the Pacers are expected to waive them.

As Wojnarowski tweeted, there was originally expected to be cash and a draft pick going to Indiana as well, but ultimately no cash was included and the Pacers will receive a second-round pick.

As for Stauskas and Baldwin, they began the season with the Portland Trail Blazers. Their trade frenzy began on Feb. 4, when they were initially dealt from Portland to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Rodney Hood.

Shortly after, Stauskas and Baldwin were then included in a big three-team trade that ultimately brought Iman Shumpert to Houston from the Sacramento Kings. The Cavaliers sent Stauskas and Baldwin to Houston, as well as Alec Burks to Sacramento. Meanwhile, the Rockets sent Brandon Knight and Marquese Chriss back to Cleveland, and then received Shumpert from the Kings.

Less than 24 hours later, the Rockets shipped Stauskas and Baldwin back to the Midwest, landing them in Indiana. With the Pacers expected to waive them, it’s likely that they will find themselves on yet another team in the near future.

While the week of the NBA trade deadline is a lot of fun for the fans, Stauskas and Baldwin are finding out that it can be absolutely brutal for some players.
