NCAA Basketball Best Bets To Win – Saturday, February 9
By John Fazio
Good day and greetings from your NCAA basketball best bets to win host and value gambler. We’ve got 6 games on this full Saturday slate where I believe we are ahead of the number.
For those seeing this for the first time, I will be giving NCAA basketball best bets for the upcoming days games having written this article the night before. The lines I quote are the live lines at the time of writing, and if the line mentioned here is significantly worse for you then consider it a no bet.
Lines are very important and are key to the value plays. On average, 1 out of every 14 games moving at least 1 1/2 points from the opening number will land (the final score will be within the line move) so we want to make sure to get the proper number.
Yesterday, Friday, we went 1-1 pushing our overall record to 58-41-1. I play all these games myself, so for as long as I can provide winning selections I will continue to write these articles. Hopefully we are winning together, as I would like to see money go into your hands and away from the books. If I am helping you, please ‘like’ the article – I ask for nothing else.
Analysis of every contest consists of the number I make the game and the associated trends, including and especially how the teams are currently playing.
Sometimes you will see a stat saying team X has covered 8/10, then upon examination that team lost the last 2 in a row. Stats can be a trap so I filter them out for you.
Okay let’s get to it and see if we can pick some Saturday winners:
NCAA Basketball Best Bets To Win – The Commonwealth Prevails
VCU – 2 1/2 versus St Bonaventure, 2 pm
I don’t understand this line, in my mind it should be higher. I’m predicting VCU by 9 so this six point difference is enough to try. No major injuries to report, VCU has won and covered 5 of their last 6, and St Bonny has lost their last 2 at home.

Arkansas + 1 1/2 versus South Carolina, 3:30 pm
My number is Arkansas by 4 and I don’t see any stats to neutralize this advantage. Arkansas has won most of the games in the head to head series, and has performed better than SC in recent ATS play. I will be on the Razorbacks as long as they are getting points.
Hofstra -12 1/2 versus William & Mary, 4 pm
Another straight forward game for me. Making the line Hofstra by 20, there is nothing in recent play to offset the advantage. They have won 6/8 in the series and have covered their last 3 at home, while W&M has lost their last 3 road games straight up and to the number.
Washington -1 versus Arizona State, 10 pm
This line opened 1 1/2 but has dropped to 1 at Westgate and Betdsi as of this writing. The Huskies have been on an incredible cover run and in my opinion the oddsmakers have not compensated fully just yet.
My number is Washington by 4, so laying 1 with a solid string of wins and covers behind the Huskies is good enough for me, putting this solidly in our NCAA basketball best bets column.
Colorado +4 1/2 versus USC, 10 pm
Colorado is in a decent position here and I think the game is a coin flip. Ideally in this kind of situation I would like to be taking 5 or 6, but at the time of this writing it’s a striped 4 1/2 across the screen. Any plus of 4 or better is okay.
Added Game – Samford -7 versus VMI, 1 pm
Samford has won and covered the last 5 in the head to head series and I don’t see that trend ending today. My number is Samford by 14 so laying 7 is still a positive expectation. Samford does not fold on the road having covered their last 3 away games, and while VMI has been fairly good at home I am still going with the away favorite here.
That’s it from me for today.
