NHL DraftKings Monday Slate Lineup Stack Attack
Welcome to ‘NHL DraftKings Monday Slate Stack Attack’. This article will focus on the best NHL lineup stacks on DraftKings for Monday February 11th.
There are only three games to look at ahead of tonight with two of them locking at 7 p.m. so there isn’t much wiggle room for late stack swaps in our NHL DraftKings lineups.
I will begin by looking at my favorite line/power play stacks before transitioning to ideal value picks. I may also refer to a ‘top-five stack’ which is a team’s top line combined with their number-one defenceman and starting goaltender.
Let’s start with ‘The Battle of Pennsylvania’.
Pittsburgh Penguins (28-20-7) @ Philadelphia Flyers (25-23-7)
The Pittsburgh Penguins have dropped four straight games and will look to end their skid against the red-hot Philadelphia Flyers.
Philly has won nine of their last ten games and a lot of that success can be attributed to the stellar play of their top goaltending prospect: Carter Hart. The Flyers also beat the Pens 4-2 earlier this season but despite all of this, i’m probably still stacking Penguins.
Pittsburgh has the seventh-best power play in the league while Philly’s penalty kill is in the NHL’s bottom five. It’s very tough to ignore such an enticing special teams matchup.
A top-five stack would naturally start with Sidney Crosby ($7.3K), along with his linemates Jake Guentzel ($5.9K) and Bryan Rust ($5.1K). Kris Letang ($5.5K) and Matt Murray ($7.5K) would round things out leaving $4.675K for each remaining roster spot.
Although Murray is the likely starter, I would encourage you to keep an eye on the news throughout the day in case they opt to go with Casey DeSmith ($7.3K).
Marcus Pettersson ($2.8K) is also a potential value player to add to this stack (or to any lineup in general) as he now plays on both the top pairing and the second power play at a rock-bottom price.
There’s the potential to save a bundle should Evgeni Malkin ($5.8K) miss another game due to injury. If he sits, the current second line of Phil Kessel ($5.3K), Tanner Pearson ($3.3K), and Nick Bjugstad ($3.1K) becomes a sneaky contrarian stack leaving $6.325K for each remaining roster spot (when combined with Letang and Murray).
Kessel, Pearson, and Bjugstad all see power play time as well (although not on the same unit) and a lineup featuring those three along with Letang, Murray, and Pettersson leaves an incredible $7.5K for each of the remaining three roster spots. This would allow you to use Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin ($7.4K), and Evander Kane ($7.1K) as your other three players. Talk about fire power!
Be sure to remember this lineup stack only works if Malkin is out. If he plays I would use the Crosby stack, along with Pettersson and Malkin, which leaves roughly $5K for the remaining two roster spots while giving you exposure to most of the top power play.

Los Angeles Kings (28-20-7) @ Washington Capitals (25-23-7)
A Capitals stack against the Kings is also worth targeting. Los Angeles has been playing better hockey recently, but they’re still very susceptible to surrendering scoring chances and goals.
There’s a solid special teams matchup to target here as well. Washington has the 12th best power play in the league while Los Angeles has the third worst penalty kill.
It’s a bit more expensive to stack the Caps compared to the Pens; however, a top-five stack would begin with Alexander Ovechkin ($7.4K), T.J. Oshie ($5.7K), and Nicklas Backstrom ($5.6K), and the trio is conveniently used on both the top line and the top power play.
Adding John Carlson ($6K) and Braden Holtby ($8.3K) leaves you with roughly $4.2K for each remaining roster spot. This is a solid stack, however you will need to get creative in order to fill out your roster with sufficient value.
So let’s get creative.
Spotting The Value
If you’re stacking Pittsburgh, there’s some good ways to save money from Washington’s roster.
A solid place to start is with Jakub Vrana ($4.3K) as he sees time on both the second line and the second power play making him a solid standalone value play. He has a goal and seven points over his last 10 games so he’s certainly been productive.
If you’re looking for a cheap mini-stack, look no further than Lars Eller ($4K) and Brett Connolly ($3.4K). They play together on both the third line and the second power play.
If you’re stacking Capitals, the Pens’ roster can offer salary relief.
As mentioned before, Marcus Pettersson ($2.8K) continues to be one of the best value options of the slate. Tanner Pearson ($3.3K) is a good risk to take as Malkin’s return would not affect Pearson’s place on the second line or the second power play unit.
As also previously referenced, Nick Bjugstad ($3.1K) could become a great play pending Malkin’s status.
If you want to find some value on the Philly side of things, it’s hard to pass up on James van Riemsdyk ($4.9K). After a slow start to the season, JVR has started to find his groove and plays on the top line and the top power play.
Going forward, he’s a solid choice until his price catches up to him.

Remember, this is just a re-creation of what an ideal lineup might look like based on my opinion. This is not a surefire NHL DraftKings winner and should not be directly used as your lineup.
