2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray heads to Jaguars
By Brad Weiss
During the 2018 NFL season, the Denver Broncos looked like they were going to make a run towards a playoff berth. However, after trading away Demaryius Thomas during the trade deadline, the season kind of went off the rails, and they found themselves on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
With their second losing season in a row, the Broncos decided it was time to move in a new direction in terms of their head coach, firing Vance Joseph after his two-year stint at the helm. In his place, the Broncos brought in Vic Fangio to be there new head coach, after a dominant performance as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears in 2018.
With Fangio at the helm, the Broncos now have to decide what they’re going to do in terms of their franchise quarterback, after spending money bringing in Case Keenum this past off-season. Keenum played well in spurts for the Broncos, but if they want to start looking at turning this franchise around, they may want to dip into the NFL Draft pool and pull out a player like Drew Lock from Missouri.
During his time at Missouri, Lock shredded SEC defenses, which are widely regarded as the best in college football. In Lock, the Broncos could finally have that franchise quarterback that they have been missing since John Elway was under center, so it would make sense for the team to roll the dice on him at No.10.
