All eyes are going to be on the Oakland Raiders during the 2019 NFL Draft, as they currently hold three first round picks this April. The Raiders were able to collect all of this draft capital by trading away some of their biggest assets, as Khalil Mack was sent to the Chicago Bears, and Amari Cooper was sent to the Dallas Cowboys.

Looking at this team last season, where they won only four games, the Raiders showed that they have some serious needs on both sides of the ball. However, there is no bigger need then the one that they have on the edge, as replacing a player like Mack proved to be impossible during the 2018 NFL season.

Mack was a generational talent during his time in the Silver and Black, and there is no single player that is going to be able to replicate the kind of production he had for the Raiders. With their No. 4 overall selection this April, the Raiders would be wise to bring in one of this draft class’ elite edge rushers, and Rashon Gary from Michigan should be available.

Last year, the Raiders selected Arden Key in the third round of the draft, and he showed flashes during his rookie season that he could end up being a double-digit sack guy at the NFL level. With Key and Gary on the outside, and some good young players in their defensive interior, this Raiders defensive line could quickly turn into a strength as they inch closer to their move to Las Vegas.
