Edge. Mississippi State. Montez Sweat. 19. player. 35.

The Tennessee Titans were team many expected to make it to the playoffs this past season, especially coming off a year that saw them make it to the Divisional Round the season before. Quarterback Marcus Mariota is developing it to one of the better young signal callers in the NFL, and should have the team back in playoff contention next season.

When it comes to the defensive side of the ball, the Titans have some areas where they need to improve, including getting after the quarterback. Luckily for them, this is a draft class that is loaded with edge rushers, and they could get an extremely talented player with the No. 19 overall pick.

In this mock draft, that player is Montez Sweat from Mississippi State, who has everything you’re looking for in a guy who could be an absolute monster in year one. Sweat has the size and the speed to get the edge against any offensive lineman, and the Titans certainly need help in this department moving forward

With Mariota under center, the Titans are always going to be in playoff contention, and if they could’ve taken care of business on Sunday night in Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts, it would’ve been back to back seasons in the playoffs. They have a couple of holes that they need to fill out prior to the 2019 campaign, but my guess is that the Titans will be back in the playoff picture next season.
