After a disappointing 2018 season, how does the Michigan State football depth chart shape up for Mark Dantonio entering spring football?

The 2018 season is one that the Michigan State Spartans would like to shoot into the sun and never mention again if possible. There was so much hope going into the year with a plethora of returning starters and quarterback that looked ready to emerge, but that was not the case. Injuries throughout the roster lead to a disappointing 7-6 record and one of the worst offense in all of college football.

2019 once again looks like a promising season, and Sparty will try to get its name back in the conversation with Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State in the west. They are top 50 in the returned production for 2019, so this is a team that is comfortable and familiar with one another. The defense which was elite in 2018 looks capable of being the same in 2019, and if the offense can even get to average, this team can make some noise nationally.

ESPN’s FPI for 2019 has them at No. 14, so they too think a comeback is on the horizon. So as we head into the spring, here is a look the first projected depth chart for all three units of the team.
