DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks February 22
We are back to another balanced one round week for our DraftKings EuroLeague tournaments this week. We have a lot of high prices on this slate, but there is some decent value to put a couple of them in your lineups. Which ones should we aim for?

There are still some big injuries here. Alexey Shved was ruled out yet again, even though he was supposed to return today. Nate Wolters, Stefan Jovic, Tyler Ennis, Kartal Ozmizrak, Keith Langford, Nikola Ivanovic, Markel Brown, Petar Popovic, Garlan Green, Nikos Pappas, Anthony Gill, Laurynas Birutis, Aleksa Ilic, Suad Sehovic, Oguz Savas, Trey Thompkins, Devin Booker, Rudy Fernandez, and Joffrey Lauvergne have all been ruled out already.
Keep an eye on the injuries Anthony Randolph, Sergio Llull, and Brandon Davies. All three have practiced and Llull played in some domestic games last week, so all seem on track to play. Strangers things have happened though. Jan Vesely, Matt Lojeski, and Nihad Dedovic are all game time decisions, so it’s up to you to decide if you want to play roulette on EuroLeague news hitting stateside in time.
The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:
I really hate the matchup for Toney Douglas, but he has played so well in Europe that I’m still considering him. This is the battle of Istanbul. Expect him, and the rest of the team, so show up regardless of what the stats say.
Nick Calathes and Norris Cole both have better matchups and higher upside than Douglas, but the floor on Douglas may be safer. Cole against Zalgiris with Wolters out of the picture is pretty tempting though.
Kostas Sloukas struggled in the first game against Darussafaka, and there has been a clear cap on Sloukas if he doesn’t start. He has shuttled between starter and bench all year. Despite the great matchup, I find myself avoiding the uncertainty at this high of a price and chasing his cheaper teammates like Ali Muhammad or Marco Guduric. Both of them had better games than Sloukas in the first battle of Istanbul.
This is not a place where I would usually use Sergio Llull, but there are so many injuries for Madrid in the frontcourt that they could conceivably run four guards for part of this game. Jaycee Carroll is worth a look on the cheap as well. I still find myself not wanting to pay up for Facundo Campazzo though.
Sean Kilpatrick looks cheap against the Shved-less Khimi backcourt. Kilpatrick has started with Langford out, and has played well alongside Calathes. You could stack this if you want, and probably be pretty happy with the output.
Edwin Jackson and Maodo Lo have been strong mid range plays lately. With Munich still a little beat up in the backcourt, I prefer Lo here.
Injuries have opened up cheap value for Erick Green and Petteri Koponen. Thomas Walkup has also hit double digit DraftKings points in each of the last five rounds.
DraftKings EuroLeague Forwards:
The absence of Shved means another big game coming for Jordan Mickey. He is my top player on the entire slate today. I don’t see a must have guard. There is a must have forward though. If you go cheap at both guard slots, I would consider pairing Mickey with Goga Bitadze, who has a nice matchup with Zalgiris here.

I really find myself gravitating towards Gustavo Ayon, even over Bitadze. Real Madrid is wrecked up front. Even if Randoph plays, I’m not sure he’s going to be 100%. Real Madrid is going to have to lean heavily on the veterans Ayon and Llull in this one.
If you can’t afford Bitadze or Ayon, pair Mickey with Malcolm Thomas. Thomas has been an absolute beast since being inserted into the starting lineup in round 20. Thomas has 105 DraftKings points over those three rounds.
Don’t pay any attention to that big red 2 next to the Bayern forwards. That’s when Real Madrid is at full strength. This could be a really big spot for Derrick Williams and company.
Ioannis Papapetrou continues to play well under Rick Pitino, but his ceiling isn’t all that high. Deshaun Thomas has a higher ceiling, but is still cheaper. I would rather use Nikola Kalinic, but only if Vesely sits again. If Vesely is back, I think it hurts the value of the entire Fenerbahce front.
Walter Tavares is going to be a strong play for his price point today with all of the injuries for Real Madrid. Not only will Tavares likely start, he will probably have to play close to 30 minutes here. I’ll take that for $7,300! Luigi Datome is also a strong play if going in the middle at forward.
There is plenty of value at forward here today. Paulius Jankunas and James Bell have played very well over the last couple of rounds. Fabian Causeur will be a popular value pick since he has played well when given the chance. He should have plenty of chances today.
