1. Quarterback

What happens with Nick Foles this offseason will be a major headline in Philadelphia. This is a quarterback who brought the team a Super Bowl Championship and led them on a strong run to end this year.

Philadelphia is in a tough spot because they are tied long-term to Carson Wentz. It’s not a terrible problem to be stuck with a young quarterback who has flashed MVP type ability. However, Foles has an almost cult-like following with this fanbase.

The big picture is that the Eagles are losing a top-end backup quarterback who has seen a lot of action due to injuries to Wentz. It’s way to early to call Wentz injury prone, but the fact remains that he has missed a lot of time in his young career.

Philadelphia likes what they have in Nate Sudfeld and appear willing to give him a shot as the backup. However, he is unproven and an unknown commodity.

The Eagles have been spoiled with Foles and are entering a bit of a cross roads. They have to stay with Wentz, but it’s a decision that could look bad down the road. There will be plenty of teams lined up to give Foles a shot prove his staying power.
