The Syracuse Orange knocked off the Duke Blue Devils the first time they met, and now they look to do it again with Zion Williamson out injured.
Near the beginning of ACC play on the 2018-19 college basketball season, the Duke Blue Devils had to play against the Syracuse Orange while being without some of their star players. In a thrilling contest between the two, it was the Orange who went on the road and picked up the upset win. Now, on Saturday at the Carrier Dome, Jim Boeheim’s team has the chance to do that once again.
As everyone knows regarding Duke at this point, they will be without superstar forward Zion Williamson as they go on the road up north on Saturday night. Williamson suffered a mild knee sprain this past week in a rivalry loss to North Carolina. Now he will be day-to-day down the stretch, meaning that RJ Barrett, Cam Reddish and Tre Jones must step up in a major, major way.
For this Syracuse team, they have been a bit all over the map all season, in ACC play and in non-conference play. Tyus Battle is no doubt the real deal and one of the conference’s best players when he’s on. He and the team, however, are just a bit inconsistent and you never know what you’re going to get out of them.

Having said that, we’ve seen them already beat Duke once this season. As such, keep an eye on the Orange at home on Saturday as they try for yet another big-time upset win.

Again, the last time that Syracuse played a short-handed Duke team, the Orange were able to come away with the win. And, despite the fact that Cuse has had plenty of off-court drama to deal with this past week, the basketball team could still go out on the floor and pick up a massive win on Saturday evening.
