NHL DFS Man Advantage Saturday February 23rd
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Saturday night February 23rd. Tonight is a very small 4 game slate for a Saturday night. The NHL usually loads it’s games earlier in the day when they have an outdoor game like we do tonight, so the “main” slate is actually at 5pm EST, but I am just focusing on the usual 7pm slate.
Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:
7PM:
Montreal @ Toronto
8PM:
Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia (Outdoors at Lincoln Financial Field)
10PM:
NY Islanders @ Vancouver
Anaheim @ Edmonton
NHL DFS Goalies:
I have two goalies I am focusing on using tonight, first is Frederik Andersen ($8,100) at home against the Canadiens, and second, Matt Murray ($7,900) outside in Philly.
Both of these goalies are in good situations to earn a win as well, probably more so with Murrary since it seems Brian Elliot will get the start for Philadelphia and he is coming back from injury and I just don’t think he is a good goalie.
You can also look at whoever ends up in net for the Islanders against Vancouver in another game that seems to be a very winnable situation for the Islanders. Lastly you can consider whoever plays for Anaheim against a Connor McDavid-less Oiler team as he serves a 2 game suspension for a cross check to the head of the Islanders Nick Leddy.
NHL DFS Top Forwards:
Auston Matthews ($7,300) – Matthews has 2 goals in 2 games against Montreal this season and has 9 goals total in his last 6 games against the Canadiens. Along with Kasperi Kapanen and Patrick Marleau they make for a great stack tonight
Leon Draisaitl ($6,800) – Without McDavid in the lineup Draisaitl will have to step up if Edmonton plans on doing anything offensively tonight. In his last 5 games Draistaitl has 4 goals and 3 assists. You will most likely see Draisaitl paired with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for the next two games while McDavid sits, but I would suggest checking out dailyfaceoff.com this afternoon to see what coach Hitchcock comes up with.
Max Domi ($5,800) – In 2 games against the Maple Leafs this season Domi has 4 assists and is averaging 6 DKFP per game. Domi centers the Habs second line with Tomas Tatar and Andrew Shaw, but if you are going to take Canadiens I would rather focus on the team’s top PP unit with Shea Weber and Jonathan Drouin
Travis Konecny ($5,000) – Konecny has 2 goals and an assist in his last 4 games and also notched a goal against the Pens in 2 games this season. Even though this game is being played outside the Wells Fargo Center it is a home game for the Flyers and Konecny has been much more productive at home than on the road to the tune of 25 home points (14 goals and 11 assists) and 12 on the road.
Corey Perry ($4,500) – Perry has only played 9 games since returning from injury back on February 2nd and he hasn’t been too productive, but has some seen some production of late. In his last 2 games Perry has 2 goals and an assist and in his last 3 against Edmonton Perry has 2 goals and 4 assists. With Ryan Getzlaf hurt it looks like Perry will be playing with Nick Ritchie and Rickard Rakell.
Casey Cizikas ($3,500) – Even though Cizikas is centering the Isles 4th line, he is seeing plenty of ice time, over 16 minutes per game during the last 5 games. During the Islanders last 5 games Cizikas has 4 goals.
NHL DFS Top Defensemen:
Top Pay Up Dman:
Ryan Pulock ($5,200) – Pulock has 1 goal and 2 assists over the Islanders last 3 games and has 10 points in his last 10.

Other Options: Morgan Rielly ($6,000), Oscar Klefbom ($ 5,100)
Top Pay Down Dman:
Jordie Benn ($3,200) – Benn has assists in back to back games for the Canadiens and is averaging 3.5 DKFP per game in those two games. Over the last 4 games Benn is seeing upwards of 20 mins per game as well.
Other Options: Justin Schultz ($3,700), Troy Stecher ($3,200)
NHL DFS Line Stacks:
Pittsburgh PP – Both units are targets, but the 1st unit is obviously top.
NY Islanders 2
Toronto 3 and PP unit 1
Montreal 3
Vancouver 2
Philadelphia 2
