Will Daryl let Lydia go back to her mother after learning that she murdered her husband (Lydia’s Father) and hurt her physically? On one side, the new group will at The Hilltop have no lingering attachments toward Lydia. They’ll most likely collectively decide they want Luke back regardless of Lydia’s fate and have had no one-on-one time with her. Enid will similarly no doubt want Alden back.

Meanwhile, Tara will look at what’s already happened to the leader that preceded her in Paul “Jesus” Rovia. She might want to make the tough decision to not ignite further clashes and confrontations. Not to mention the possible loss of life from The Hilltop’s community. After all, life outside of this post-Saviors has been rather peaceful, why push ‘conflict?’

On the other hand, Daryl and Henry will be vouching for Lydia after discovering the circumstances behind her current mental condition. Based on his own past, Daryl will not allow Lydia back into the hands of the person battering them. Similarly, Henry is infatuated with Lydia, and after eating a worm to impress her… Is no doubt all in.

Henry likely wants to make Lydia his girlfriend and he’s going to play the hero if the rest of the group even considers giving her back. Maybe even leave with her to join The Whisperers themselves.

In the sneak peek trailer for tonight’s Walking Dead episode, Alpha makes her terms clear. Give back her daughter and there will be conflict. She mentions Luke and Alden have not been harmed as she tries to figure out who the leader of the community is. Daryl tells the others he’s not going to give back Lydia to her. Meaning, conflict is inevitable…

However, perhaps the rest of The Hilltop will have a vote on the cast? Will The Whisperers give them time for such a move or is it more of a give Lydia back now or war’s on kind of thing?
