Chicago Bears: 5 offseason needs in 2019

The Chicago Bears have a strong roster that doesn’t have many needs to fill this offseason.
The Chicago Bears depth chart reveals a very well-build roster. General manager Ryan Pace has done good job building depth and finding young starters across the board. He took an approach that included equal parts free agency and the draft.
Pace will need to be very creative this offseason as he has limited resources to work with. Chicago is projected to have just around $12 million in cap space. They also only have draft picks in the third, four, fifth and seven round.
Ideally, the Bears would be able to re-sign their own free agents and address the kicking game on the open market.
Chicago’s youth, especially at the quarterback spot, means this is a team that can improve just based on player development. If they happen to lose their own free agents, Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan, then Pace will need to get to work.
The Bears have some internal pieces to replace those players but it would represent an obvious drop in talent. It’ll be interesting to see just how much money Chicago commits to replacing Cody Parkey.
Finding a new kicker will be the obvious headline of he offseason, but throwing money at the problem isn’t the answer.
Chicago is a Super Bowl contender and may need only a few tweaks to get to the big game. The key here is for the Bears to find the right pieces to keep their development moving forward.
