Safety

One of the more intriguing free agents hitting the market is Bears safety Adrian Amos. He’s still a young player who has developed into a consistent and reliable performer. Amos is someone who can be counted on to be in the right place at the right time. The combination of Amos and Eddie Jackson gave the Bears one of the better safety combos in the NFL.

There are plenty of teams out there with a lot more money than Chicago. Teams like the Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets should have over $100 million to spend. Amos is a prime candidate for teams like this who based on his age and talent.

Chicago is going to try very hard to bring Amos back, but they have some potential internal replacements like Deon Bush and DeAndre Houston-Carson. Both are former mid-round picks who have seen sporadic action. However, neither have solidified themselves as sure-fire starters.

Some bargain free agents that could make sense for Chicago include Anthony Harris, George Iloka, Corey Graham or Kenny Vaccaro. Chicago not only doesn’t have a lot of cap space, they also only have a handful of draft picks. This will make replacing Amos a very tough task.
