NHL DFS Man Advantage Monday February 25th
By Matt Vecchio
Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Monday night February 25th! Tonight we get a decent sized 6 game slate with a couple of top offenses in the NHL on display. With teams like Tampa Bay (vs LA), Toronto (vs Buf), and Colorado (vs Fla) all at home with games against teams they can score in bunches against means we could be in for some high DKFP totals tonight.
Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:
7PM:
Buffalo @ Toronto
Montreal @ New Jersey
7:30PM:
Los Angeles @ Tampa Bay
8PM:
Edmonton @ Nashville
9PM:
Florida @ Colorado
10PM:
Anaheim @ Vancouver
NHL DFS Goalies:
My top goalies tonight are Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,500) and Semyon Varlamov ($8,000) in matchups that should be relatively easy for them, on paper. Vasilevskiy comes in a winner in 6 straight starts with only 9 goals allowed and 2 shutouts during his win streak, meanwhile LA comes in losers of 7 straight and have only scored 17 goals in their 7 loses. As for Varly, he has started to turn things around, winning 3 straight starts and allowing only 4 goals in that span including a shutout of Vegas.
My next pick in net is Carey Price ($7,600) on the road in New Jersey against the Devils. Maybe I am missing something but Price seems to be underpriced against a Devils team that sits last in the Metro division. Price as won 2 of his last 3 starts allowing 7 goals in those 3 games.
NHL DFS Top Forwards:
Top Tier:
Nathan MacKinnon ($7,600) – MacKinnon is back with Mikko Rantanen ($6,600) on the Av’s top line along with Alex Kerfoot ($3,900) which make a mid priced stack, just make sure to check out dailyfaceoff.com after morning skate (probably around 1-2pm EST) to see if anything changes with this line. MacKinnon is coming off 3 point game with 2 goals and an assist against on Saturday earning him 11 DKFP.
Jonathan Huberdeau ($6,500) – Keeping with the same game, Huberdeau comes in on a 4 game point streak with 4 goals and 4 assists during his streak. If you want to play a Panthers stack, I would recommend play Huberdeau as part of a PP stack with Florida’s top unit.
Mid Tier:
Sam Reinhart ($5,800) – Reinhart picked up his third career hat trick Saturday against Washington, giving him 4 goals in his last 4 games. It seems Reinhart has finally come into the type of player Buffalo thought they were getting when they took him 2nd overall in 2014. Reinhart has 55 points, including 38 assists, in 61 games, a career high, his previous career mark was set last season, when he had 50 points in 82 games. The Sabres have some exceptional talent up front, including Reinhart, who is on track to top 70 points this season.
Carl Soderberg ($5,300) – Soderberg has recorded three consecutive multi-point outings, with three goals and four assists over that span. He has six blocked shots and 12 shots on goal in those contests as well. Soderberg has definitely benefited from the Av’s splitting up the top line and getting to play with a player like Gabriel Landeskog ($7,100) who has 3 goal and 3 assists during his 4 game point streak.
Zach Hyman ($4,600) – Hyman has 3 goals in his last 3 games to go along with 7 SOG and 2 BS in that some time frame. Mike Babcock loves Hyman and it shows in his ice time, and the fact he had him on the ice in the last 2 minutes of the game on Saturday, I just wish we got more offense out of him on a consistent basis.
Value Tier:
Jesperi Kotkaniemi ($3,600) – In his last 3 games the Canadiens 18-year-old rookie has 1 goal and 2 assists. For this price Kotkaniemi gives you plenty of offensive potential and does play minutes in the mid-teens while playing on the Habs 3rd line and 2nd PP unit.
Sam Gagner ($3,400) – Gagner has goals in back to back games for Edmonton (in case you forgot he got traded back to the Oilers from Vancouver earlier this month). Gagner and the Oilers are going to be without Connor McDavid again tonight and will need players like Gagner to step up again if they want to have a shot at beating Nashville.
Ryan Callahan ($2,900) – This pick is dependent on Callahan actually playing. He’s been in and out of the lineup of late. When Callahan does play he has 1 goal and 2 assists while averaging around 3 DKFP per game in his last 4 games.
NHL DFS Top Defensemen:
Pay Up Dman:
Rasmus Dahlin ($4,700) – Dahlin has goals in back to back games for the Sabres and is averaging 3.25 DKFP per game over his last 4 games.

Alex Biega ($3,400) – Biega has 2 assists in his last 4, but is averaging 3 DKFP per game in that span. Also in the last 4 games for Biega has 10 shots on goal and 6 blocked shots.
Other options: Andrea Sekera ($3,400), Ryan Graves ($3,200)
