NHL DFS Goalies:

Tonight’s pick for top goalie is Braden Holtby ($8,300) at home against Ottawa, or whatever is left of Ottawa. It’s not really about the stats for Holtby in this one for me its pretty much just the matchup. Ottawa traded away practically every NHL caliber talent they had and are left with a mix of fringe NHLers and AHL players.

My second pick in net is Petr Mrazek ($8,100) at home against the Kings who are on the second night of a back to back. Mrazek has actually been playing well of late for the surging Hurricanes. In his last 4 starts Mrazek has 3 wins, including 2 shutouts over Dallas and the Rangers.

Jordan Binnington ($7,800) gets Nashville at home on the second night of a back to back for them. It is amazing what Binnington has done for St. Louis since coming up from the AHL, he is 14-2-1 with a 1.70 GAA and .934 save percentage in 17 games started. Binnington has only lost 1 game since January 21st, I know Nashville brought in some reinforcements, but they make a few games to gel and Binnington is too good right now to not play.

Lastly, my GPP play tonight is Jonathan Quick ($7,000) in Carolina tonight. Carolina has won 4 of 5 , but has only scored 14 goals in those 5 games. If the Kings could get a couple past Mrazek, they may be able to steal a win.

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – FEBRUARY 24: (L-R) Derek Stepan #21, Josh Archibald #45, Lawson Crouse #67 and Niklas Hjalmarsson #4 of the Arizona Coyotes celebrate after Crouse scored a goal against the Winnipeg Jets during the second period of the NHL game at Gila River Arena on February 24, 2019 in Glendale, Arizona. NHL DFS Top Forwards:

Top Tier:

Alex Ovechkin ($8,200) – Ovie comes into tonight playing arguably the best hockey he has played all season with points in 10 of his last 11 games totaling 7 goals and 8 assists. Putting Ovechkin with Tom Wilson and Evgeny Kuznetsov could be a very lucrative stack tonight.

Matt Duchene/Cam Atkinson ($7,200) – I am all for playing either these two together with Artemi Panarin as a line stack, just the two of them together as a mini stack, or either of them as a stand alone, and lastly with Zach Werenski as a PP stack. Pittsburgh puts up goals, but they also give up a ton and Columbus will score a few tonight and this top line will probably get 1 or 2.

Zach Parise ($6,600) – Parise has 1 goal and 3 assists in 4 games against Winnipeg this season and also has 1 goal and 3 assists in his last 3 games. During his 3 game point streak Parise is averaging over 5 DKFP per game.

Mid Tier:

Mark Stone ($6,400) – After being traded to Sin City from Ottawa today, Stone promptly signed an 8 year extension worth an AAV of $9.5mil. Stone can now focus on hockey and not his future and will look to show his new team and fan base what they got in him tonight on home ice against Dallas. Before leaving Ottawa, Stone had 6 goals and 6 assists in his last 10 games as a Senator.

Mikael Backlund ($5,800) – Calgary’s second line and 2nd PP unit center has 3 goals and 4 assists during his current 5 game point streak. During his streak Backlund has been play minutes in the upper teens and a total of 17 shots on goal.

Derek Stepan ($5,100) – Stepan may be having the worst season of his career, but that’s the beauty of DFS, season long stats don’t matter, it’s all about what you’re doing now. Stepan has assists in 3 straight games and is averaging 4.3 DKFP per game. If you want to stack Stepan with anyone from Arizona  I would look to the top PP unit.

Value Tier:

Jordan Martinook ($3,600) – Martinook has 2 goals in his last 3 games and is averaging just over 3 DKFP per game. Martinook is more of a one play, but if you wanted to stack him you can pair him with Andrei Svechnikov

Ryan Donato ($3,300) – Since his trade out of Boston to Minnesota he’s been on fire. In 3 games with the Wild Donato has 1 goal and 3 assists and is averaging 4.5 DKFP . Donato plays with Luke Kunin and Marcus Foligno on the 3rd line as well as the 2nd PP unit.

Jason Dickinson ($3,000) – Dickinson has 3 assists in his last 4 games for Dallas. Even though he centers the Stars 4th line, he is seeing over 15 minutes per game. He is a good one-off play if you are looking to stack the Capitals or Blue Jackets.

NHL DFS Top Defensemen:

Top Pay Up Dman:

Justin Faulk ($5,100) – Faulk has 2 goals and an assist while averaging 4.5 DKFP per game over his last 4 games. In his last 4 as well Faulk has been playing between 22-24 minutes per game on averaging. Faulk is my favorite dman tonight

More from FanSided

Other options: Alex Pietrangelo ($5,500), Ryan Pulock ($4,900)

Top Pay Down Dman:

Tim Heed ($2,700) – Heed is a great play at his price coming in riding a 3 game point streak with 1 goal and 2 assists during his streak.

Other options: Niklas Hjalmarsson ($3,000), Esa Lindell ($4,100)
