Rashan Gary. 8. player. 50. . Edge. Michigan

The Detroit Lions head into the 2019 offseason with plenty of question marks up and down their roster, as they will have to decide what to do with some big-name free agents. The biggest name of all could be Ezekiel Ansah, who is a dominant edge rusher, but will command a big market in free agency.

Last season, the Lions struggled to get after the quarterback even with Ansah in the fold, so adding an edge rusher with their top-10 pick makes a lot of sense. If they do decide to go edge rusher, they only have to look in-state for a solid prospect, as Rashan Gary from Michigan could be available at No. 8 overall.

Gary is a guy who can do so many good things on a football field, and has the versatility to play up and down the line. The Lions need to start stockpiling talent on both sides of the ball, and head coach Matt Patricia could do wonders with a player of Gary’s skill set, as he is one of the better defensive minds in the NFL.

Matthew Stafford has done a nice job compiling numbers during his NFL career, but the time has come for this team to not only put some better pieces around him, and him to take the franchise to the next level. The Lions have some good players on both sides of the ball, and it will be interesting to see if this offseason can get them back in the conversation of being a playoff team.
