Welcome to NHL DFS Man Advantage for Wednesday night February 27th! After last night’s huge 11 game slate we have a small 5 game slate to play tonight. Tonight is chalk city with Colorado, Tampa Bay, and Toronto on this slate, these are some of the best and everyone’s favorite teams to play, so we will have to dig around a little to find some contrarian plays to separate ourselves on this small slate. You won’t find anyone from the three aforementioned teams top 6 in my plays tonight because I don’t want to waste anyone’s time telling you to roster players you all know are good plays. I will instead try to give you some guys elsewhere on the slate who might go overlooked because of the draw to the top three teams tonight.

Tonight’s NHL DFS Schedule:

7PM:

Edmonton @ Toronto

Calgary @ New Jersey

7:30PM:

Tampa Bay @ NY Rangers

9:30PM:

Vancouver @ Colorado

10PM:

Chicago @ Anaheim

NHL DFS Goalies:

My top goalies tonight are all going to be the starters for the three teams I mentioned in the open solely because they give you best chance at a win tonight. (Listed below in PRICE order, not preference)

Frederik Andersen ($8,400) – Andersen is probably my least favorite of the three because there is a certain man whose initials are C.M. that is making a return from a suspension tonight.

Andrei Vasilevskiy ($8,200) – Vasilevskiy is my favorite goalie tonight taking on a Rangers team who traded away 2 of their 3 best players this past week. They will probably get a goal, or 2, in on Vasilevskiy but a 30 save win is definitely in the cards tonight

Semyon Varlamov ($7,900) – Varly has a good matchup with Vancouver who seems to have issues scoring goals of late. Losing 3 of 4 and only scoring 8 goals in that span is a good sign for Varlamov users tonight

Cam Ward is a wild card tonight for me. He has a very winnable matchup against Anaheim, but he just isn’t very good. If there was a game for Ward to get right in it would be this game. Anaheim has lost 3 straight and scored a whopping 2 goals in those 3 games. Ward should be able to hold his own in net against a team with Derek Grant and Sam Steel as 2 of their top 3 centers.

NHL DFS Top Forwards:

Patrick Kane ($7,600) – Here’s the one obvious play outside of the top 6 from the other 3 teams I mentioned. Kane was held off the score sheet for the first time in what seems like 10 years (actually 20 games), so it looks like it’s time to start a new streak tonight

Connor McDavid ($7,100) – He’s BAAAAACK! After serving his 2 game suspension McDavid will be back on the ice tonight in Toronto and I feel like he’s going to be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Before his suspension McDavid had points in 9 of his last 10 with 3 goals and 10 assists.

Elias Pettersson ($6,300) – Pettersson seems to have slowed down in the last couple of weeks but still does have 1 goal and 4 assists in his last 5 games. In 2 games against Colorado this season Pettersson has 2 goals and 4 assists and is averaging 8.3 DKFP per game. Pettersson centers the Canucks 2nd line with Brock Boeser and Nikolay Goldobin.

Bo Horvat ($ 5,700) – If you would rather save some cash, you can use Horvat instead of Pettersson. In his last 5 games Horvat has 3 goals and an assist. You can use Horvat with Josh Leivo and Ryan Spooner for a lower money stack, or you can use Horvat, Leivo, and Pettersson with Ben Hutton as a PP stack if you think Varlamov has another down night. If Philipp Grubauer starts then I love the Canucks because of how inept Grubauer has been in net this season.

Rikard Rakell ($4,800) – As I said earlier, Cam Ward has not been great this season, so if you feel he has a down night, Rakell could probably benefit from that. Rakell is averaging 4 sog per game in his last 5 games, but he has not recorded a point since February 9th. With Ryan Getzlaf hurt Rakell is playing with Cory Perry and Derek Grant on the Ducks top line.

Michael Frolik ($4,500) – Frolik has 2 goals and 3 assists in his last 5 games to go along with 11 sog and is averaging 3.7 DKFP per game. Frolik is now on the 3rd line for the Flames, alongside Austin Czarnik ($3,000) , who I also like tonight. Czarnik has 4 goals in his last 5 games and these two make for a nice mini stack against New Jersey.

Jimmy Vesey ($3,800) – Vesey is now taking the departed Mats Zuccarello‘s spot on the top line with Chris Kreider and Mika ZibanejadIn Sunday’s 6-5 loss, Vesey had a goal and an assist,  that’s back-to-back two-point efforts for Vesey since Mats Zuccarello got dealt .

NHL DFS Top Defensemen

 Pay Up Dman:

Erik Gustafsson ($5,600) – Gustafsson has 3 straight multi-assist games with 7 assists during that streak. During his 3 game streak Gustafsson is averaging 5.8 DKFP per game, an averaging of more than 25 minutes per game.

More from FanSided

Other Options: Morgan Rielly ($6,300), Tyson Barrie ($5,300)

Pay Down Dman:

Tony DeAngelo ($4,000) – DeAngelo come into tonight on a 7 game assist streak with 8 total assists during his streak. Paring DeAngelo with Vesey is a good inexpensive mini PP 2 stack that could be a nice GPP play since everyone will be playing Tampa and a lot will be on Vasilevskiy.

Other Options: Brendan Guhle ($2,800) , Connor Carrick ($2,700)

NHL DFS Line Stacks:

Tampa Bay 1 and PP 1

Toronto 1 & 2

Colorado 3 and PP 1

Chicago 2
