Josh Allen, LB/EDGE, Kentucky

Height: 6 feet 4 inches

Weight: 250lbs

The EDGE prospect out of Kentucky has enjoyed a tremendous college career. He has improved dramatically each year he returned to school. Josh Allen is now a near lock to be selected within the top five of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He has all the tools necessary to put on a great show during the upcoming Scouting Combine. His combination of length, quickness and balance will help him stand out during the various drills.

Allen’s size and arm length will be the first thing reported as the weigh-ins come before the actual workouts. He should be one of several prospects who pass the eye test. This is a well-built athlete with long limbs.

While the 40-yard dash will be an important event for Allen, the drills that test his agility will be more impactful.

Allen’s success in events like the three-cone drill will be what most teams watch. This will show his ability to potentially bend around the edge as a pass-rusher. It will also help determine if he’ll be able to flip his hips while in coverage.

The Combine will impact Allen’s draft stock, but not all that much. However, a great showing could put him in serious contention to be the first player selected.
