D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

Height: 6 feet 4 inches

Weight: 230lbs

D.K. Metcalf has recently seen the hype around his draft stock rise due to a photo. This photo shows Metcalf looking extremely buff after a workout. What it really shows is what type of massive human being he is.

Opposing NFL defenders will obviously have a tough time getting physical with Metcalf. He is expected to have some impressive measurables and do well in the strength drills.

The one concern with all that bulk is if it hinders his movement. A wide receiver needs body flexibility and control. Bulkier players can struggle adjusting their body to poorly-thrown balls. This will make the agility drills important for Metcalf.

Todd McShay has said that it’s possible that Metcalf posts a low 4.4 40-yard dash. This would be a very impressive number for such a big-bodied wide receiver.

It’ll be important for any team interested in Metcalf to realize that he is the typical big target. He’s someone who will look to out-muscle the opponent and uses his body to gain position. This isn’t someone you should ask to run a complete route tree or work out of the slot.

That would be like trying to fit a muscular square in a round hole.
