7 prospects who will blow up the NFL Combine

When looking at the measurables for a pass-rushing prospect, most tend to focus on length. Most of the better pass rushers feature a long frame and arms that allow them to keep clean as they attack the quarterback.
Long arms help the pass rusher to keep the blocker off his frame and to employ different moves. Mississippi State’s Montez Sweat is reported to have a 6-foot-6-inch frame with an excellent wingspan. He should be one of the winners of the measurement portion of the Combine.
The one concern is that Sweat is a little thin through the hips. He’ll need to add some bulk at the next level in order to continue trending upward.
Some players with long legs like Sweat can struggle with change of direction. However, Jon Ledyard discusses how Sweat could be someone who excels in the agility events. If things play out this way Sweat’s draft stock could see a major bump.
NFL teams put a high value on players capable of creating pressure off the edge. This often forces them to take more risks on players who have yet to completely develop. Sweat would fit in that category as a prospect who still has room to grow.
