Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 205lbs

It’s very likely that we haven’t see anything close to what Parris Campbell has to offer as a wide receiver. He had a solid career at Ohio State which featured plenty of highlight-reel catches. However, his overall numbers don’t jump out and show an elite playmaker.

The NFL Combine will be a way for Campbell to show off his athleticism and potential. He’s a long and explosive athlete. Campbell is someone who quickly gets up to full speed and can take the top off a defense.

He should have a very strong showing in the 40-yard dash. His combination of quick-twitch ability and long legs will help him excel in this event.

Despite his length, Campbell also shows good change of direction and flexibility. He has shown the ability to make clean cuts while maintaining his speed. This will show up in the three-cone drill which tests moveability.

If things work out the right way, Campbell could have his college quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, throwing him passes at the Combine. This will help ease the tension and provide him with a familiar throwing style.

It’s possible that after the Combine we are talking about Parris as being one of the biggest winners. The Combine is only part of an evaluation, but it tends to force evaluators to go back and take another look at some prospects.
