5. Everything Else

In a battle between what could be two of the most underutilized talents on the roster, Keith Lee fought Dominik Dijakovic to a double count-out. While both men have won and lost their fair share of matches since their NXT arrivals, this match without a shadow of a doubt was the best showcase for both of these men since their respective debuts.

The crowd was hot for this finish and wanted to see the match continue; one would think this feud is just getting started and will only get better from here.

Also in the program, they teased the Velveteen Dream’s first potential challenger for his NXT North American Championship in the form of Adam Cole, the leader of the Undisputed Era.

Is this a red herring from Triple H and company or is Cole in line to get the first shot? With Cole’s proclamation earlier this year that all members of the Undisputed Era would be wearing gold in 2019, he would be the one who makes the most sense of the four to be the NXT Champion. We will find out in the weeks to come if Cole’s prediction for his group comes to light.

All things considered, this was a good and entertaining edition of NXT that advanced quite a few storylines as we head into TakeOver: New York. What did you think of the show? Who do you think faces Velveteen for his championship in Brooklyn? Let us know in the comments below!
