DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks March 1
We are on the tail end of the unbalanced round in the DraftKings EuroLeague slates this week, and it shows. There are still some pretty good options here, and enough injuries to open up some value. Let’s see what we need to be watching.

There are still some big injuries here this week. Janis Strelnieks is the big name that’s out. Nikola Ivanovic, Mikhail Kulagin, and Aleksa Ilic are the only ones that are out for sure, but a lot of players carry the questionable tag.
The questionable ranks are Rudy Fernandez(probable), Devin Booker, Trey Thompkins(doubtful), Suad Sehovic, Andrey Vorontsevich, Ognjen Kuzmic, Petar Popovic, Stefan Jovic, Vassilis Spanoulis, Nando de Colo, and Cory Higgins are all guys we need confirmation on. That’s a lot of questions on a short slate.
The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!
For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:
Norris Cole is the highest guy on the slate, and he should be. Cole becomes the defacto star with yesterday not only a game heavier, but it was loaded on stars anyway. However, if de Colo plays as expected, I can see a pivot off of Cole here. Nando has three straight games of more than 20 real points and more than 30 DraftKings points.
That is also the reason I am off of Sergio Rodriguez here. I’m not a huge fan of Higgins either. On a day like this, it’s possible to put both Cole and Nando in the lineup and not feel like you are weakening your lineup too much as a result. The middle tier is full of the Barcelona-Real Madrid matchup that is always really tough. I’m not sure I want to pay top dollar for these players, but Facundo Campazzo is the guy that I would play if you want a piece of this game.
Nigel Williams-Goss looks like a very strong play here. With Strelnieks out and Spanoulis ailing, NWG is the only truly healthy guard on this team that gets regular minutes. Briante Weber is a very strong value play again as well, especially if Spanoulis sits or is limited.
Nihad Dedovic has been one of the most consistent producers for Munich this year. His usage hasn’t really gone up with Jovic out, so even if Jovic returns, Dedovic looks pretty safe.
In the EuroLeague, you really just want your value plays to hit double digits. It’s a modest goal, but you would be shocked at how many consistently miss that mark. That’s what makes guys like Edwin Jackson so nice. He’s always in double figures. So are Maodo Lo and Petteri Koponen, though Braydon Hobbs is threatening to cut into the latter’s production.
DraftKings EuroLeague Forwards:
Will Clyburn really took it to Olympiacos in the first meeting. His numbers have been a little down lately thanks to the strong play of Nando de Colo. If de Colo plays, I’m not all that wild about paying top dollar for Clyburn, especially with Goga Bitadze confirmed in for today.
Derrick Williams was very good in the first meeting against Podgorica, but today I think I would rather use the money on Nikola Milutinov. Milutinov has three straight games of over 20 DraftKings points. This has all the looks of a fourth.

Real Madrid’s entire front is healthy, but I still really like Anthony Randolph here. Despite the tougher matchup, Barcelona really had no answer for him in the first meeting. He also has the advantage of not being nearly as streaky as Ayon.
Both Vladimir Lucic and Danilo Barthel put up good numbers in the first meeting with Podgorica, and they could have the advantage of being overlooked here with a sneaky good crop of forwards. Many are going to play the other side of this with Bitadze and Earl Clark. I’ll still take Bitadze, but I would rather pair him with Lucic or Barthel. There is plenty of value at guard to do just that.
Honestly, I don’t like a lot of the middle tier here, but Kevin Seraphin continues to be a force for Barcelona. He didn’t play in the first matchup against Real Madrid, but he is about the only Barcelona forward that I have any interest in here.
Kostas Papanikolaou and Othello Hunter are solid mid range plays, but I think I like Devin Williams better here. Williams looked good in his Podgorica debut, and should still see strong minutes even with Goga back.
There are a lot of value mouths to feed in the CSKA frontcourt, which makes it hard to pick from these guys. Nikita Kurbanov is the most consistent, but Alec Peters is capable of big games. If you need to go even cheaper, make sure to check out James Bell. I don’t know that I would go any lower than that though.
