The Los Angeles Rams fell short in Super Bowl LII, but an active offseason could land them back in the big game.

Bill Belichick and company completely stifled the Los Angeles Rams on Super Bowl Sunday. The explosive Rams offense was limited to only three points, their lowest total since Sean McVay became their head coach.

Despite the lackluster performance, it was step in the right direction. In McVay’s first season, the Rams were eliminated on Wild Card Weekend. They bounced back by having a strong offseason and added several pieces to make a run at the Lombardi Trophy.

This offseason, the Los Angeles Rams have a ton of decisions to make. Do they bring back Ndamukong Suh? How about LaMarcus Joyner? Rodger Safforld? Dante Fowler Jr.?

If the Rams lose these playmakers, who should they add? Here are five targets Los Angeles needs to consider.

5. Jacquizz Rodgers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There is no denying that the Los Angeles Rams have one of the best running backs in the league, but it appears that Todd Gurley’s heavy workload over the last two years is starting to ware him down.

Gurley has rushed the ball 535 times since 2017, which is the second highest amongst running backs behind Ezekiel Elliot. This postseason, Gurley watched as C.J. Anderson took the bulk of the reps out of the backfield.

Anderson carried the ball 16 more times than Gurley and gained 29 more yards than him, while both scored two touchdowns. At first many speculated Gurley was dealing with an injury, but he insisted he was not after the Super Bowl loss.

Because of Anderson’s productive regular season and postseason, there is a good chance he earned himself another contract outside of LA. With that being said, finding a backup option is necessary and perfect fit would be Jacquizz Rodgers.

The former 2011 fifth-round draft pick rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown last season. But, was effective catching passes out of the backfield. He had 38 receptions for 304 yards and averaged eight yards per reception.

Since entering the league he has been targeted at least 40 times in four seasons and caught at least 29 passes in each of those seasons. Rodgers will be an affordable option, provide a change of pace and bring a different dynamic to an already explosives offense.
