The American Idol premiere begins its second season on ABC. Here’s how to watch American Idol season 17, episode 1 live, on TV and online.

American Idol returns on ABC this weekend, so find out how to watch American Idol online or live tonight, as the long-running singing competition starts its second season on the Alphabet.

Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan are all returning as judges for the new season, with Ryan Seacrest continuing in his long-running role as host. After the series made a successful transition from FOX to ABC last year, hopes are high that they’re going to continue finding talent (and huge ratings) in their new home.

That begins with Sunday’s season premiere, which features the judging panel stopping in various cities around the country to hear new talent. Will they find someone who floored them like season 16 winner Maddie Poppe? Will something else exciting happen in the audition room? American Idol is searching America for more aspiring singers, who will all be hoping to move on to Hollywood.

"In the highly anticipated premiere episode, viewers will embark on a nationwide journey starting with the shows’ famed judge auditions in Louisville, Kentucky; Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; and Denver, Colorado, where aspiring singers will see if they have what it takes to earn a coveted golden ticket to Hollywood."
