5. Interior offensive line

The Cardinals (sort of) addressed this need last offseason by signing Justin Pugh in free agency. Although, he wasn’t nearly enough.

Footballoutsiders.com ranked the team’s offensive line 25th in run blocking and 26th in pass protection. The interior positions of the offensive line need work. Mike Iupati is aging and hitting free agency, which leaves a need at guard, and the team could also toy around with the idea of an upgrade at center.

Some players that fit into the team’s price range in free agency are A.J. Cann, Ramon Foster, Matt Paradis and Rodger Saffold. Of course, Saffold is the most attractive name listed, but he may have a lot of suitors for Arizona to contend with this offseason.

The draft may be a safer route because Saffold and Foster are older than 30 and Paradis will turn that age in October. If the team decides to use a mid-round pick to draft someone to fill one of these needs, Michael Deiter out of Wisonsin and Kaleb McGary from Washington are both names that could come in and be impact players.

Of course, it’s important for the Cardinals, like any team, to have a strong offensive line. Although, it’s even more crucial for Arizona as they attempt to get Josh Rosen, (or maybe Kyler Murray),  acclimated to the NFL.
