Riley Ridley, WR, Georgia

A year after watching his older brother Calvin get torn apart for his poor performance, little brother Riley Ridley did the same thing. Riley was always considered less of an athlete than Calvin but the two were close in almost all metrics at the combine. Neither had a really good day. The bad news for the younger of the two is that this is a loaded wide receiver class and a bad day could push him far down the board.

We all knew that Ridley was not an elite athlete. However a 4.52 40 yard dash will concern some given that Ridley is not an overly big wide receiver. Checking in at 6-foot-1 and a shade under 200 pounds, you would expect a strong athlete. Instead Ridley is just a moderate athlete who can win on tape with excellent routes and great hands.

His testing was actually a tad better than Calvin aside from the 40. He posted a better three cone, 20 yard shuttle and broad jump. Unfortunately neither he or Calvin were better than the 50th percentile in any drill but the broad jump.

Ridley’s athletic profile took a hit with so many receivers where out there performing well. There is still a lot to like about his game but he had a chance to push himself into the top of day two with a good performance. Instead he brought on more questions and likely slides back towards round three with this showing.
