2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The Oakland Raiders will go into the 2019 NFL Draft with a big bullseye on their backs, as teams are going to be looking to trade with them. The Silver and Black hold three first round picks, as well as five selections in the first 106 picks, so they by far have the most draft capital of any team heading into April.
The good news for the Raiders fan base is the fact that they brought in a former draft analyst as their general manager this offseason, signing Mike Mayock to the role. Mayock knows his way around a draft board, and he has already been putting in long hours trying to figure out what the team will do with all their draft picks.
There has been rumors as of late of the team trading away Derek Carr, and trying to move up to get either Dwayne Haskins or Kyler Murray at the top of the draft. If they were wise, they would hold on to Carr, who will be the most prolific quarterback in team history after this season, and attempt to get better on the edge defensively.
One player who should hear his name called in the top-5 is Josh Allen from Kentucky, who could fill a number of roles on this Raiders defense. They need a talent like him coming off the edge, and if the Raiders can get better on that side of the ball, and add a weapon or two to the offense, they should be much-improved over last season.
