2019 NFL Mock Draft: Kyler Murray goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars may not have to wait until the 2019 NFL Draft to get their quarterback, as they are rumored to be the front-runner to get Nick Foles from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles decided to let Foles walk after leading them to the playoffs the last two seasons, filling in for the injured Carson Wentz late in the year.
In Foles the Jaguars could have one of the final pieces of their playoff puzzle, as they made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game two years ago with Blake Bortles at the helm. Foles is a much better quarterback than Bortles, and is a former Super Bowl MVP, so look for them to be right back in the mix in the AFC in 2019.
Looking at the rest of the roster, and this is assuming Foles goes to Jacksonville, the Jaguars may want to add to their tight end group. During the NFL Scouting Combine, T.J. Hockenson from Iowa put on an absolute show, and may have locked himself into a spot in the top-10 heading into the draft this April.
Hockenson has elite size, hands, and speed, and the Jaguars would like nothing more than to give Foles the kind of security blanket he had in Philadelphia with Zach Ertz. Jacksonville has a real opportunity to make some noise in the AFC next season, especially if they get Foles, and Hockenson is the kind of pass-catching tight end all elite teams need.
