NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Centers

Sean Couturier Flyers ($6,700)

Couturier is currently riding a two-game goal streak. Although his opponent is favored to win the game, home and road splits favor the talented center. In 33 games at the Wells Fargo Center, Couturier has 15 goals and 18 assists.

He plays on a line with one of the leagues most deadly set-up men in Jakub Voracek. Couturier also gets time on the second power play unit, sharing the ice with Nolan Patrick and Oskar Lindblom. Possession metrics are far in Couturier’s favor with a CF% of 53.4 and a FF% of 54.6. He is also averaging a career high in time on ice at nearly 22 minutes.

Ryan O’Reilly Blues ($6,500)

A bit of a dice roll here as O’Reilly hasn’t scored or assisted in his last five games. I don’t normally love Blues players not named Vladimir Tarasenko, but the Ducks are on the second night of a back-to-back. The hope is that they come out sluggish and the Blues steamroll them in Anaheim.

Although on a cold streak as of late, O’Reilly still has solid point totals with 24 goals and 39 assists. He is in a good spot to break the cold spell matching up against a Anaheim team that ranks 16th against opposing centers.

NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Wingers

T.J. Oshie Capitals ($5,700)

Oshie will be most remembered for his shootout dominance in the 2014 Olympics against Russia. But let’s head back to the future, or how about present day. Oshie falls pretty far down the list of available wingers on the small slate. At just $5,700, Oshie feels too cheap not to roster.

He is averaging nearly 3.4 FPPG and has performed well lately. In his last ten games, Oshie has nine points including multi-point games in two of the last three. Although he spends his time on the team’s second line, he runs with the top power play unit with Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetzov and Nicklas Backstrom.

Matthew Tkachuk Flames ($5,400)

Tkachuk may be more valuable than Oshie averaging slightly more FPPG. You may even be able to fit one or more of the top guys by rostering both. The elder Tkachuk in the NHL has 62 points on the season, surpassing each of his first two seasons finishing just below 50.

It’s funny calling Matthew elder because he is just 21 years young. The big left winger likes to throw around his body with 76 hits through 66 games. Similar to Oshie, Tkachuk is on the Flames second line, but skates with the top power play unit. He and his line show fantastic puck possession with a CF% of 56 and a FF% of 54.6.

NHL DFS DraftKings Snipes – Defense and Goalie

Alex Biega Canucks ($3,900)

I don’t recommend picking roster spots matching up against your goalie. My goal is to avoid suggesting only top options, rather trying to provide value. Alex Biega is a cheap option with some upside in this matchup. He has only put up 11 points on the season, but has four points in the last four games.

Biega has only appeared in 27 games but has been effective on the ice as a +5. The 30-year old is putting up career numbers in most categories. What sticks out the most is his huge leap in possession percentages.

I must sound like a broken record with these possession metrics, but let’s be honest, your MUCH more likely to get a goal or assist if you and your team have the puck! Biega has a CF% of 54.5 and a FF% of 54.7. Another stat that sticks out to me is how often he starts in a shift in the offensive zone 57.5% of the time.

Frederik Andersen Leafs ($8,200)

At this point, only one goalie has been confirmed. So make sure to check in closer to line-up lock.  On a small slate, I’m seeking out the goalie with the best shot to win.

DraftKings NBA Picks March 6th. dark. Next

Frederick Anderson gives us the best odds. Vegas Insider has the line at Leafs -200. He has the second best SV% on the slate behind a part-time goalie. Anderson has won seven out of his last ten games and has not allowed more than three goals in any of them.
