Everything you need to know to prepare for you the upcoming edition of WWE NXT for March 6th on the WWE Network.
DISCLAIMER: WWE NXT is a pre-taped wrestling program, and results of the show have already hit the internet ahead of time. We will not be spoiling those results here at FanSided; thanks for reading.
Last week the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic came together, going from four teams to eight. The prize remains the same as the winning team will receive a tag team title shot against the War Raiders at NXT Takeover: New York. The black and yellow brand is wasting no time in getting this tournament underway as all four first-round matches will take place this Wednesday night on the WWE Network.
The teams’ placement in the brackets prove to be quite interesting as we could end up seeing all four recently called-up members of the NXT roster facing off against each other in the semi-finals if #DIY and the team of Ricochet and Aleister Black can win their respective matchups. One of which will be no easy task as Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will go against the Undisputed Era in the form of the recently-reunited Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. This is a match that could potentially have been the tournament final at another place and time, but now we are getting it in the first round.

Beyond the matches for the Dusty Classic, there isn’t much known about what we will see on NXT this Wednesday night. One would think the feud between Adam Cole and current reigning defending NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream will continue, but how they go about that is anybody’s guess.

On next week’s edition of NXT, Bianca Belair and Io Shirai will settle their differences in the ring with some big stakes on the line as the winner will get a shot at Shayna Baszler in Brooklyn WrestleMania weekend for the women’s championship. Will the Queen of Spades have something to say about her potential opponent this Wednesday night? Tune in to find out!
As we mentioned earlier, all four matches scheduled to take place this Wednesday night are the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and those include:
– Moustache Mountain versus Street Profits
– Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch versus the Forgotten Sons
– #DIY versus the Undisputed Era
– Aleister Black and Ricochet versus Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel
If you’re a big fan of tournament-style wrestling, NXT will definitely help you scratch that itch over the next several weeks. The rest of the card for NXT Takeover: New York should also start to take shape. Takeover events never disappoint and this one should be no different. Which matches are you hoping to see take place?
