DraftKings EuroLeague Basketball Picks March 7

We are back to a balanced four and four slate for the DraftKings EuroLeagues slates this week. Most of the stars are on the Friday slate, so what does that leave for Thursday? We have a few top priced players here, but are any of them worth playing?

More from DFS

Laurynas Birutis, Nikos Pappas, Nate Wolters, Antanas Kavaliauskas, and Jake Cohen are the only ones that have been ruled out so far. EuroLeague injury news is hard to come by, so we have a to keep a close eye on the questionable ones, and that’s a long list.

Deshaun Thomas, Joffrey Lauvergne, Michael Eric, Tyler Ennis, Eulis Baez, Devin Booker, Trey Thompkins, Rokas Jokubaitis, Matt Lojeski, Konstantinos Mitoglu, , Luke Nelson, and Ognjen Kuzmic all carry a questionable designation. Some of these will have a big impact on how we build our lineups.

The rotations can be frustrating sometimes as more players see the court than in your average NBA game. The games themselves are also shorter, playing four ten minute quarters as opposed to 12 minutes in the NBA. The court is smaller, the lane is bigger, and the three point line is closer, but the action is still what you would expect from world class basketball!

For DraftKings EuroLeague, we can’t expect 5x value like in the NBA. Most winning lineups are around 180-200 DraftKings points, which is around 3.5 – 4x value.

DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

Nick Calathes is the highest price on the slate, and maybe he should be. Calathes racked up 38.25 DraftKings points against Darussafaka in the first matchup. More importantly, the defense of Calathes held Toney Douglas to just 19.5 DraftKings points in that one. The top option at guard couldn’t be more clear today. That isn’t always the case.

Fenerbahce has allowed the fewest DraftKings points per game to guards this year, but I still like Facundo Campazzo. I wont play any other Real Madrid guards, but Campazzo still managed 26.5 DraftKngs points in the first meeting. Ownership will be low on Campazzo with other good guards in his range, but he could come up big here.

The inconsistency of Wilbekin and Kostas Sloukas drives me crazy. They both have good matchups, but I find pieces with less volatility. Marius Grigonis no longer comes at a discount, but he has been money with Nate Wolters out. Grigonis is one of my favorite guards at any level today.

Clevin Hannah hasn’t done enough since returning from injury to warrant using him at the price. Especially when you consider that Sean Kilpatrick and Marko Guduric are almost the same price. Both of them are much better options, and the matchup for Kilpatrick is one of the better ones. However, he has had some bouts of inconsistency in Europe just like he did in the States.

Stefan Jovic is still the only Munich guard I would consider playing, but I think I would still rather play Michael Roll against him. Roll had 24.5 DraftKings points in the first meeting.

Keith Langford has picked up right where he left off before missing two full months with a groin injury. Excluding the game in which he got hurt, Langford has at least 22 DraftKings points in four of the last six rounds.

Thomas Walkup has been outstanding with Nate Wolters again, and DraftKings hasn’t raised his price enough to keep me from using him. Honestly, I may run with two value guards here because Maodo Lo and Petteri Koponen continue to put up better numbers than most starters off of the Munich bench.

If you are digging deeper for value, Nikola Radicevic returned to Gran Canaria after a two month absence last week and put up a strong 17.5 DraftKings points in 19 minutes. He is already the best player Gran Canaria has at guard even if he only plays 19 minutes again. I love Radicevic at this price.

DraftKings EuroLeague Forwards:

There are so many great values at guard that we can play whoever the hell we want up front. All of us should want Brandon Davies. Only Barcelona and Efes, two of the top three forward defenses in the league, have held Davies under 24 DraftKings points since Christmas. Gran Canaria has no chance.

More from FanSided

Tarik Black has put together a nice little streak of four straight games of 20 or more DraftKings points. Anthony Randolph has pushed his streak to five. Derrick Williams and Jan Vesely have higher ceilings, but they also have terrible matchups. It makes more sense to use Johnny O’Bryant against Munich.

Vladimir Lucic and Danilo Barthel have played better than any forward tandem in the league lately, but this is a tough matchup for them against Tel Aviv. Still, if anyone can bust this Maccabi front, it’s these two.

This could be a huge spot for Jeremy Evans, especially if there’s no Deshaun Thomas to defend him. Stanton Kidd becomes an outstanding value pick if Michael Eric ends up missing this game too.

Ioannis Papapetrou doesn’t have the upside that I want when spending nearly $9,000 on a player. Markus Eriksson is easily the better play, and he’s $1,300 cheaper. Xavier Rabaseda and Alex Tyus are solid plays in this level as well.

Jacob Wiley hit the ground running with 22.5 DraftKings points in his EuroLeague debut against a solid Athens front. He’s way too cheap at this price! I still like the Zalgiris front, particularly Edgaras Ulanovas, against him though.

Thanassis Antetokounmpo put up a whopping 29 DraftKings points in just 20 minutes with Thomas out last week. Is this the week Pitino finally turns him loose? We’ve been waiting! Now the bad news: this was against Gran Canaria, the worst defense in Europe.
