The Buffalo Bills are close to pulling off a shocking trade on Thursday night by acquiring Antonio Brown. It could be a franchise-changing move.

On Thursday night, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network dropped a bombshell, with the Buffalo Bills nearing a trade for superstar Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown.

While the deal isn’t official yet, it appears Brown will be headed to western New York. The Bills are in the midst of trying to rebuild the team, having only made the playoffs once since 1999. So why make this move now? Because the franchise is desperately attempting to build around second-year quarterback Josh Allen.

Here are five reasons a trade for Brown would be great for the Bills if it goes down.

5. Buffalo needs some excitement

Sometimes, a move can be this simple. The Bills haven’t had a ton fo exciting players on the roster since the days of Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed and the K-Gun offense of the early 1990s. While LeSean McCoy remains on the current roster, he’s aging and starting to break down. At some point, a team needs to go with a fresh start and bring in a magnetic talent.

The Bills are clearly hoping that Brown can help sell some jerseys all while charging up a fanbase that has been waiting for this kind of talent.
