NCAA Basketball: 5 Over/Under Bets for Saturday March 9th
Congratulations! You have officially survived the bleak, numb months of January and February and have entered the euphoric month of March where NCAA Basketball takes ‘center court’, a gamblers paradise.
With conference championships underway, we officially have wall-to-wall action every day as we barrel roll to the big dance, the NCAA Basketball March Madness tournament.
There are a total of ONE-HUNDRED AND FOUR (104) games today starting at NOON EST going all the way to a game scheduled for midnight between San Diego and BYU. This is the first ‘official‘ day where you could lose all of your chips before you even get to the table.
March Madness is a mere 10 days away and conference championships are still at their infant stage. The best advice we can give is be a big-game hunter on a daily basis and find the games you really like. I would love to bet on 104 college games but I would also like to keep a roof over my head.
With that being said, I have identified 5 Over/Under bets you can make with confidence in this cloudy field based on trends, familiarity and situation.
TENNESSEE/AUBURN, 12 PM EST
OVER 148
Tennessee (27-3) heads to Auburn Arena to take on the Auburn Tigers (21-9), who are winners of three straight. Both teams have been crushing the under over the last few weeks, the Volunteers have hit the under in 4 of their last 5 Auburn has done the same in 8 of their last 10.
What I am looking at is Tennessee statistical anomaly that is their road O/U record and the totals when these two teams face. Tennessee has hit the over in 9 of their last 10 road games and have hit the over in 5 of the last 7 times they visited Auburn. The over has hit in 5 of the last 6 match ups between these two (any site) and will continue today.

FLORIDA STATE/WAKE FOREST, 12 PM EST
UNDER 141.5
Florida State (24-6) STRUGGLES to hit the over on the road. FSU has hit the under in 11 of the last 15 times it has visited an opponent. The under has also hit in 4 of the last 5 meeting @ Wake Forest (11-18).
With an 88-66 victory over Wake Forest on 2/13 long in the past for Florida State, they have struggled to score 70 in the last few weeks. With limited to play for, I could see Wake Forest giving in at an early mark allowing FSU to coast to the finish line.
GEORGETOWN/MARQUETTE, 230 PM EST
UNDER 154.5
Despite Georgetown’s overall O/U record (18-12 on overs) throughout the 2018-2019 season, I look forward to a very close game between the Hoyas (18-12) and the Golden Eagles (23-7) even though Marquette is a 10-point favorite behind the motor of Junior Markus Howard. In their first match up of the season on 1/15, Marquette took down the Hoyas 74-71. A similar spirited battle should garner a similar score and remain under the listed under.
LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE/ARKANSAS STATE, 5 PM EST
OVER 157
I am always terrified when I see a number over 150 when you rely on 18-22 year old in two intervals of 20 minutes to score an average of 75-80 points per team. For the most part, I hammer the under or avoid the line all together.
However, Louisiana-Lafayette and their 9-4 overs record (on the road) heading to Jonesboro, Arkansas seems like a perfect opportunity. In their last three match ups, these two teams averaged a total of 167.3 points per game.
DUKE/NORTH CAROLINA, 6 PM EST
UNDER 166
Despite the likelihood of Zion Williamson remaining on the sideline, Vegas has decided to treat this premiere match up like an NBA game. Of course, 166 is not as egregious as some O/U’s posted in the NBA, but it is an incredible number for the college level.
The Blue Devils (26-4) have hit the under in 21 of their 30 games this season and the Tar Heels (25-5) have struggled on their own to hit the over (14-16 on the season).
The under hit in the last three match ups between these two teams while averaging 147 combined points per game. In their first game of the season on 2/20, UNC beat Duke 88-72 in the game more renowned for the Zion Williamson shoe incident.
I believe the Blue Devils will be prepared to compete with UNC without their illustrious freshman but the total should stay relatively simmered.
